Each country-styled accommodation at Mike Wiegele Helicopter Skiing Resort features wooden furniture. We loved the design of the lodges, food in the restaurant was superb, grounds are beautiful and composed into an amazing scenery. There is a lake behind the lodges and the entire area is picture perfect. In summer the prices are a phenomenal deal for the quality. We arrived late and maps, keys, and relevant information was waiting for us in the night box. When we checked out staff gave us some info on the rest of itinerary that we used and we really found the recommendations extremely valuable.
all reviews » The cabins are lovely and very well furnished. There is a restaurant just over the road, which was good, with extremely nice staff. The reception staff were also very helpful. The location, in Blue River, is useful if you wish to go on the River Safari to bear watch, the reason I chose to stay in this location. There is a lake nearby, where you can swim, which we also did and thoroughly enjoyed. To be recommended!. Beautiful scenic lodges, luxourious inside... Steam shower and jaccuzzi. Staff very friendly and welcoming, offering advise about village, things to do and weather forecast. Beautiful setting. Loved the lake for swimming. Clear fresh water that was surprising not cold for the mountainous location. Room was very clean and comfortable. We visited out of Ski season and there was not a lot of life to the place. But that was good. This is a high quality site and is worth a stay when passing. the SILENCE steamcabin and whirlpool in the bathroom. Very comfy tidy rooms. comfortable rooms. lovely cabin. good!. Clean well kept rooms. That we could only stay one day:-( also, restaurant opened at 11 am- it would have been nice to have breakfast there because dinner food was excellent and there is not much in the area. Nothing. I wish I could stay again. We went in July and chef wasnt working morning shifts, so offered a breakfast basket. Basket only had an apple, small muffin and carton of juice, so not what I would classify as even a "continental breakfast", more of a snack!. Summertime and there was no fridge in the room. Haven't been anywhere is years that has not had a fridge. No breakfast facility. no frig in the room. The room temperatures set far too high for the summer. You can adjust them they a in a locked enclosure. 28.5 deg C In middle of summer what a joke. restaurant was not open for earlier breakfast. they said that they didn't have the booking. com reservation, but were able to re-bok us. I thought a bit sus since theyn were empty. They had record of the cancelled add'l room but not the confirmed res ? ! restaurant-poor. Cafe was not open until 1000h & the only option fir breakfast earlier was a poor restaurant at the nearby Sandman. soap and shampoo realy just for one. Feathers. I requested a feather free room through both letsbookhotel.com and by telephone with the Resort due to a severe allergy. I was told there would be no feathers. We were given a room with all feather pillows and duvets with no alternatives and no night staff to help. I slept with no pillows and a sheet. I was not impressed with the resort or letsbookhotel.com. Also, no security or any staff available at night at all.
