My wife and I travel yearly and Bumpers Inn has been truly the best motel we have stayed at. Lorna the front desk staff-whom I believe is the owner, is polite, professional and kind. We found her cleaning staff to be very friendly and approachable if you need supplies. We stayed in a spacious second floor room that had a vaulted ceiling and a door to step out onto balcony overlooking the terrace. The fridge was quiet and the two windows could both be easily opened. Rooms are aged but its a motel/motor inn so if you want a hot tub, gym and a place for the kids while you nurse your hangover this is not your place. if you want a place that is banff budget and choose to spend your money on enjoying your stay while in banff (skiing, restaurants, child care, hot springs) than pay the 80$ and don't expect anything more than a spacious room to sleep while you explore the area. very . Just because it didnt look very fancy but when entering my room i was very impressed with the overall clean visual of the room and the beds were very comfortable and the staff was very accomidating and answered all of my questions in a professional manor and were very easily understood. Fridge in the bedroom sucks, I dont need to hear the phase control of the fridge while sleeping - solution unplug the fridge. (Its -17 outside anyways). I had to lug my stuff one floor up an outdoor staircase, but that's hardly a big problem if you're dressed for winter anyway. There are ground floor rooms available - I just didn't ask for one. There is no restaurant in the hotel, but there are lots of places nearby (walk or drive) for breakfast or dinner. Small fridge was in bedroom beside bed and made funny gurgling noises all night. Had to wear ear plugs. Recommend they find another spot for the fridge - like in the entrance under the coffee maker, or anywhere other than beside the bed. GOOD SLEEP MEANS EVERYTHING. The coffee machines were quite worn out. Didn't offer breakfast or other meals. Nothing negative to report. Nothing. Unfortunately we arrived in the middle of a heat wave and air /con or a fan would have been appreciated. not there long enough. No complaints. noise during the night - possibly air in the plumbing pipes... Building looks old. Located at the edge of Banff, so a bit away from the main scene. The bus is easy to catch and its only a 10 min walk.Also the Steak house is no longer at the same site but still close by. The room was so very hot, and even turning down the heat, it stayed hot in there. No air conditioning. A little outdated. A little dated with some aesthetic maintenance needed. TV is still problematic, not a deal breaker, but not impressed (again). nothing. they charged my credit card twice still not fixed. Place has alot of mosquitos. The room was on the small side and out dated. Not worth the amount of money. Wifi is non existing and they know that at the reception. too close to road, so sometimes is noisy. No Spar Expencive.
