The hotel was great. First impressions of my room was like stepping onto the set of an Indianna Jones movie, complete with a five-foot tall replica of Angkor Wat in the bathroom. The hotels decor reminds me of what the british colonial era was like, with plenty of animal carvings adorning the walls. The rooftop pool was nice with half-price drinks happy hour. I only stayed two nights but wished for at least one more just to explore the city a bit more. One street over from the hotel is the nigh.

My daughter and I both had the 2 hour full body treatment at the spa. It was everything we hoped! We would recommend this hotel to everyone!. Kitsch hotel - we completely loved the fact it was so over the top. Shower is open to the bedroom so if your are a bit prudish you might have to ask the other person with you go and get a drink or something. Rooftop pool was amazing. We really enjoyed our stay at The Terrasse des elephants, the rooftop swimming pool is great after a long visit in Angkor. Staff was friendly and the breakfast was great (options between american, european and Khmer). The staff where honorable to the hotel they made me and my girlfriends stay very enjoyable. I asked for a birthday request and they sorted it will no troubles I can't thank them enough That thank you so much!. The location of the hotel is really good, we could walk to the pub street to have dinners. The first room we stayed is quite spacious. The waiting time of the breakfast is long (due to it is a La-carte one) but it was served with nice manners. Rooftop pool . Unique rooms decoration ( Angkor sculpture style ) . Staff could have been more proactive in replacinag toilet rolls in rooms. However, when asked to do so, toilet rolls were brought within 5 minutes. None. Unfotunately the AC didn't work very well, but this seems to have been in our room only. The shower accessed via a bridge over a pond did have a wow factor, but anything beyond a 3min shower would just flood the entire room. It was also very dark and almost spooky - the tv turned on by itself a few times and the pond feature did actually have me thinking of water rats in the middle of the night!. Can't think of a thing. I hope to return some day and will definitely tell our friends to go there. Lighting level in bedroom could be higher and unable to find out how to stop the ceiling fan without turning off the electricity by removing room key card which meant had to use a torch to get from the door back to the bed! A lift would have been appreciated. the steps to shower and washbasin, very rough and easy to hurt yourself. Poor bathroom and shower Towels were rough and old. Floor in the bathroom: cobbles are not ideal when you are walking barefoot. Room a little Dark. Not dislike, improve, room furniture could do with an upgrade. 4th Floor room, no lift Food quite procey. Breakfast was poor and bed was extremely uncomfortable. Curtains didn't close and shower area sore on the feet. There was only one air-con for the whole room and it was extremey hot. Couldnt sleep the first night. Had to ask for an extra fan for the second night Breakfast was quite bad!. First room booked had a moldy smell and the fan didn't work. Staff quickly changed us to a new room which was much nicer. Bear in mind this is Cambodia and the amenities reflect the price you pay. The Mattress is too old and seems to collapse, and the tent to keep the Mosquito away is too low and when sleep on the bed it always fall on your body. The first two nights the fan and the air-conditioner were too noisy and we felt we were in a factory, then we had to change to another room but very small due to the peak season no other room available. Restaurant staff attitude - they were doing us a huuuge favor serving us breakfast ( which was very tasty btw ) ; very slow and impolite . Everything else. The decor was quirky but impractical, the lighting was dismal, the hot water was intermittent, the breakfast cold, the service slow, there is no one on reception who understands English in the evening. The toilet became blocked. The spa was poor, the staff chattering to one another during treatments. There is no lift. I was glad to leave after 4 days and should have left after the first night, when someone knocked us up out of bed at 3 am, looking for Sanji?.... Stagnant water in pond in the Bedroom led to many insects and a foul smell. * overpriced for what you get (this is not a 4 star place) * towels were cheap and rough * breakfast was basic (3 options, all somewhat lacking) * no elevator * staff service was subpar -- had to beg/bicker to get US$10 changed to smaller money for taxi out to airport. Air conditioner not effective and no screens on windows so mosquitos had easy access to room.
