From the second we walked through the door our experience was amazing. The staff were so helpful and checked us in early, we had purchased a room with executive level access (well worth it as there is an open bar and lots of snacks/food available during the day free of charge!) and were upgraded to a suite with spectacular views of Copacabana Beach. all reviews » Friendly and helpful staff. We had mentioned on the 'special request' of the booking form that the reason of the trip was for a special birthday. In our room we found a birthday cake and a bottle of champagne courtesy of the hotel which was a very nice gesture. Spacious reception area fantastic sea view if you get any of the front rooms perfect location very good housekeeping service. The beds are fantastic so comfy, the executive floor is well worth paying for, great breakfasts, Staff very friendly and helpful, Located right next to the beach fabulous view but get a room high up and in the sun for best view (its the right hand side when facing it) corridors nice, reception nice l. Rooms need a little tlc. Just price a little spicy. We were given a room that had no working electrical sockets and the A/C was off. It took the hotel an hour while we were waiting in the room to find us another room to re-locate us, we were given no compensation for the poor service. Price. "Sea view" means "sea view" if you count a glimpse. Smell (they spray something to mask the mold.) Amazingly: understaffed (on the concierge/executive floor). The Facilities of the hotel were not up to standard for 5 star hotel. The value of the money payed did not meet the expectations for a 5 star property.
