An excellent hotel, with probably the best views in Copacabana, specially at the higher levels. I was at the 27th floor and with a view over the Pao de AÇucar from the bed itself, amazing. Excellent light and very confortable bed and room. Situated close to the middle of the Copacabana bay, it is greatly located.loved it was right on the beach, and that the hotel was very clean . The management was excellent ans it felt very safe and secure.

Great location in relation to both Copacobana and Ipanema beaches as well as a short taxi ride to many of the attractions. Nice looking hotel overall and the reception area is comfortable. Gimenez is an elderly man who arranges tours and shuttle services. He is a very friendly and caring man who will arrange any activities you would like to partake in.the stunning view of copacabana beach from the room, the cleansiness, the room furniture, services in the hotel. Friendly staff. location. Copacabana is not the best place to stay in Rio, but apart from that, the hotel was a good choice. Which means that our room might becomfortable in the future.I stayed at the Rio Othon before, this time I was disappointed with the time that took me to check-in, the lack of high speed internet in my room and the absurd cost to use it in the lobby. Took me 3 days with visits from several hotel employees to find out that my room had only wireless internet access even though I had a outlet on my wall, for the price charged.The renovated roomes on the upper floors are nice. But the non-renovated rooms on lower floors (up to 16th floor?) need renovation and certainly do not justify 5 stars.O check in é nuito ruin e confuso. Há poucos empregados para fazê-lo. Numa mesma e denorada fila havia check in e check out...The rooms I say were very dated, the lighting was extremely poor in the bathroom. The balcony had no doors into the room, only one dark wooden pane of sliding doors. The balcony was enclosed in sliding glass panes that were completely impossible to slide. One pane was slightly open and because I am not fat, I was able to squeeze through to get to the 10 cm balcony width that was not obstructed.The decor of the room, the poor standard of service, the fact that guests must pay extortionate prices to use the gym and internet, the fact that despite several requests the hotel has not provided me with a receipt for my stay.Very worn out hotel, unprofessional staff (it took 1 hr to check in), rooms were old, looks more like a 1 star hotel/motel than a 5 star hotel. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. A true tourist trap!!!!. The balconies are tiny, you can not fit a chair. The air conditioning did not work in one of the rooms.
