Perfect location, you can go everywhere easily, lots of restaurants, pubs, supermarkets, banks and pharmacies close-by. The beach is 3 blocks away and so is the lagoon. You can rent a bike in the hostel. Great staff. Nice breakfast. Amazing people from all around the world. I surely recommend it!. The location is superb, the building is nice and comfortable, the pool lovely, the breakfast good (but get there before 9.45 or there won't be much left). My flight was in the evening but I had no issue in hanging out in the hostel till the departure time, leaving my luggage in the storage.

I got a bed and prepared but when I got back in the evening there was someone else staying there. She was there before me but they didn't know, so be careful and make sure your bed is really yours! I heard this happened before. Only 4 wc's and 3 showers to a lot of people. The tv "disappeared" in the evening of the football match Brazil x Chile. Showed up again in the next day. Only one toilet/shower for a floor with 24 beds. Part of the staff (the masculine part actually) don't care about client satisfaction. You don't feel welcome. No towel provided. I know it's a youth hostel, but they could make an effort. Instead of 6 per room, it was 9 and the beds weren't that good. It should have more bathrooms as well but was fair enought. The beds are awful. Foam mattresses with massive impressions making the beds very uncomfortable. Quite expensive even for hostels in Rio. The bathroom is not enough, we always need to wait for a long time. There are no laundry, only can do hand wash and no space for drying the cloth. Good sized kitchen was let down by lack of utensils. Showers and bathrooms weren't clean. Most of the staff were reluctant to help. Beds not confortable and bathroons weren't clean enought. The welcome we recieved after a 26 hour journey from the uk was not a particularly friendly one. The guy working on reception seemed put out that he had to show us to our room.It´s a good job most of the guests were friendy, otherwise we probably would have left the next morning. Stuff were kinda rude, they were a couple kissing and dont paying attention to anybody. Staff were rude and uninterested when asking about the area.
