I and my family have been here twice. We have come back because this place is very nice. The staff is very friendly. The rooms are confortable, clean. The furnitures are good, change towels every day. The breakfast is the best: fresh, a lot of different fruits, cheese, ham, bread, mango and watermelon juice, cake. The milieu is very good. I recommend on this place to responsible people that want to rest, protect the environment and not destroy the facilities of the house. all reviews »
The hostess/owner, Sid, was friendly and greeted all guests. My wife is in a wheelchair & Sid warned us that St Teresa area was all hills but we had a hire-car & she arranged parking next to our room. Great historic area and genuine care from all staff-our best stay in Brazil. We have stayed in 4-5 star hotels who have not given us such great care and welcome.
Really quaint little hotel in the Santa Theresa district. The rooms are well appointed and very clean. The grounds are relaxing and you would never know that you're in the middle of Rio. The staff are amazing. They did everything they could to make our stay pleasant. Best breakfast we had in 4 weeks in Brazil.
Friendly staff, good location in Santa Teresa with access to local restaurants. About 15 mins walk to the subway (Gloria station). Lapa is close by, though we weren't happy walking there at night. Safe neighbourhood. Shower always hot. Internet reliable. Secure.
Funky premises - good location in Santa Teressa -very helpful staff- resloved a booking problem on a timely basis - good breakfast selection and quality.
This place is perfect.
We loved it but disabled person does need to be able to walk up 2 steps to room which my wife can cope with - not for wheelchair bound person.
No A/C, which might not be bad in July but was uncomfortable in Feb. A tough climb from the street with luggage for an older couple. Ste. Theresa is a beautiful area but it is a long way from banks and supermercados.
You are not allowed to flush toilet paper here (normal) but the bin was not emptied for 3 consecutive days, which makes for a smelly bathroom.
General disrepair of the premises - tired looking -should have room safes -more in room storage - pool area needs upgrades including seating.
Very run-down area, probably due to the Tram no longer running.
