The son of the owner, Neto, speacks english very well and picked us up late night at the airport. He was very friendly and showed us next day the lokal fish, food and banana market and the rest of the city. The hotel is a lovely Colonial building and only a few meters away from the Theatro Amazon and the city centre. Most of the rooms are very big, but the have also 1 or 2 very small and simple rooms. Included breakfast is basic, but the roll filled with fried egg was delicious. It was served . all reviews »
Super friendly owner that made me feel at home. Spent time out of his day to take me to the local market and helped me bargain for prices.

Tips from the staff about the city
Clean.
The price. The room was simple but fair according to the price. The same with breakfast. One can not expect a great breakfast for the room's rate.
Room nbr. 110 to basic.
The wireless was kind of flaky, but that could have been my old device.
Very simple place.
- at my second stay they gave me a room next to the street, it was so noisy that I couldn´t sleep. Only after a long discussion they gave me another room. I have to say this was the first time that I asked to change the room ever.
They promised to provide a taxi to or from the airport. When the cab
that they provided dropped us off at the airport, the driver said that
they had not paid and we had to. When I talked to the hotel later they
said that they would contact the driver and fix it, but did not meet
with us as they had promised. We got stiffed!.
The location is terrible, especially for someone traveling alone. I was advised not to walk outside alone. The city center is not that distanced but far enough to see a difference in security matters.
they didn´t had my reservation, so they gave me the worst room wich was so noisy that I couldn´t sleep.
Two weeks later they found my reservation and told letsbookhotel.com that I didn,t show up and wanted the money a second time. This is a no go for me.
