The hotel is very clean and comfortable after being on the dusty streets of Uyuni. We stayed there before and after our three day trip to the Salt Flats and National Park. The hotel was happy to store our bags, laptop until we returned from the tour. The hotel is only two or three minutes walk from the main square where the restaurants are located. A good choice of hotel for a town such as Uyuni and those on a mid budget.
all reviews » The room is very cold even with a portable heater provided. I believe it's because the wintows are not tightly closed, this allows draft to come in. Other than that, not much to complain about, consider it's in Uyuni, everything is basic. Location is very good only 4 blocks from Uyuni train station Breakfast included plus complimentary wifi at lobby area. Great room with panoramic windows, good furniture, fast wi-fi, hot water in bathroom (which is rarity for Bolivia). Very nice rooms upstairs with heating! Very good located in Uyuni, breakfast was for bolivian standards great!. It's central enough and clean. The water is hot which is not always a guarantee in a place like Uyuni. Friendly staff. Our second stay was in an old room downstairs and was much less comfortable,. Location was good. We had just finished a three day trip in Bolivia and this was probably one of the best places available. Not luxury, but clean & tidy. The size of our room was very generous. The breakfasts were of a good quality. The communal areas such as the lounge in the lobby were very comfortable. The building was pretty interesting, the room was clean, however it had a strong smell of the floor polish. Cable tv and the wifi were working. A well used and worn hostal in a busy tourist town. The staff were helpful including the night porter. The breakfast was good. The location was very close to our tour agency Red Planet office. It also has a pizzeria with tasty pizza. The room was comfortable; almost a suite. Small restuarant in the hotel serving good pizzas. Hot water, heating in the room, good location, good staff. The staff, ijnitally they did not have my booking and took me to another hotel, who were full. Then as I walked past the hotel they came out and told me they had my room. They literally saved my life! I also had pizza and a coke which they brought to me room for no extra charge. They looked after my luggage after I had checked out. I cannot thank the hotel enough. Location is good, hotel ambiance is nice. it is in Uyuni. Nothing. It's ok for the rate you pay. Maybe rooms are a little bit cold and heating was not working at all. Very expensive. Little Bit expensive even the laundry. Breakfast wasn't served until 8am and we had to fly to La Paz leaving at 6.30am, so we paid for a breakfast that we could not have. This must apply to other hotel guests too if they are taking the early morning flight to Quito. Nothing. very cold. They didn't have any upstairs rooms available for our second stay. The rooms on the first floor are shabbier and one bed even broke when we got into it. It took us 2 hours to arrange for a hot shower. And they wanted to charge us only five dollars less for the downstairs room than the upstairs and far superior rooms. When we checked out, we were able to negotiate a reduced price, but they made it very difficult. Our guide arranged for us to have a breakfast tray delivered to our door for our 6am start. It didn't arrive and the guy on reception denied ever knowing about it. Spoilt an otherwise ok hotel. Our toilet didn't flush properly, we couldn't open the window in our room, and one half of the mattress had sunk. The owner a little grumpy, but we knew it already from the previous reviews. The hotel is overpriced but this is normal in Uyuni, the price you have to pay to get to the beautiful salt flats. The dollar-bolivian exchange rate was too high. Also the reception boy tried to fool us asking 100bs for taxi, 50 bolivians per person. Since we knew the real price we didn't agree for that and paid only 20 bs in all. 1st morning woken very early 5.30ish by 2 noisy tour groups having breakfast. When we got down for breakfast 8.30 no food, plates or cutlery. Had to go to reception twice to get reluctant service. Morning of leaving to get to airport for 7.15 requested taxi not ordered, and no one around to help. Had to run to square to find taxi. The shower was functional with hot water, but still very basic. Slow Wi-Fi, but that seemed to be the case everywhere we went in Bolivia. Staff were polite but lazy Rooms were very dusty Had a very slippy bathroom floor. Got very cold at night as balcony window did not shut properly. Staff unfriendly 4 star hotel yet toilet door didn't close.. Staff were not enthusiastic or particularly helpful Didn't accept credit cards for payment. - The staff was not very welcoming - Our room was just beside the kitchen which was noisy. The room was freezing and the bed wasn't clean. The balcony door also would not lock so we were concerned for our valuables. Broken door handle, light that don't work. Don't take credit cards. The room looked like it had never been vacuumed, the lobby ashtray was overflowing and the breakfast was pretty meager. Facilities are smelly (like furniture cleaning oli). Cold and heaters scarce and used only at certain times / areas. Helpfull staff, but wihour even low tourism standards. (They were not able to ask for a early morning taxi and suggesdted to wait outside for one at 6:30 AM and at 0° C temp. Cold, outdated, poor breakfast, completely overpriced. breakfast was not hotel standard, it was less than hostal standard, staff were cooking eggs for themselves in the kitchen but there was no eggs for the guests, or any other cooked foods, just cereal cheese white bred no butter what kind of hotel does this ?????? advertised as english speaking but nobody spoke english. bar didnt open no restaurant in the evening, room service is an unknown term in this place no elevator they should advertise it for what it is, a hostal, and not a good one. We had to ask for toilet paper, we had to ask for the hotwater to be turned on after getting in the shower, we had to ask for room heat at nightfall when the temps dropped to zero, and only one of 8 light bulbs worked. The staff were particularly sullen spending most time playing video games. Cold , no heating which was advertised and generally very poor. Cannot honestly recommend it however it may be a case that it is Hobsons choice. Living on that. US$60 is way over-priced. US$20 is probably more in-line with market value. Also, they wouldn't accept credit card, cash only. No elevator 3rd. Floor - and city is more than13,000 f. of altitutde - and I'm 61. No hot water and no internet. Complained many times but they did not fix these issues. Staff does not know english and help you on these problems. I could not have breakfast because there was no seat. Even they did not help me on this issue. Service is terrible in this hotel. Staff were sullen at best, playing video games all day. Had to ask for toilet paper. Had to ask for hot water AFTER getting into shower. Had to ask for room heat as temps reached near freezing. Breakfast ran out before we got to the table. Room was full of dust. Only two light bulbs were working out of eight. Poor security - door didn't close well. Bathroom appalling. Beds uncomfortable. No credit card access. Generally untidy. Very dirty. We can't sleep in bed, bcz something was in bed. And we scrath all night.
