The staff was very friendly. They brought us tea and made us a nice meal for our room without prior notice. Our room had a comfortable sitting area with sofas downstairs and upstairs a super water bed and the bathroom. The breakfast consisted of quality meats and cheese with a variety of breads and yogurt. They also made us omelettes and brought us freshly squeezed orange juice. The views of the river were lovely and we enjoyed hiking with our dog and toddler on the trail heading upstream. Great location, right on the Leie. We were able to store our canoe in the back yard. Breakfast was exquisite, with fresh ingredients. There was more than enough food (we couldn't finish it all). Staff is very friendly.

There wasn't a shower, which for a few days was fine. The stairs are also very steep. If you aren't fit or have a toddler, this could be a challenge for you. Luckily our son was just old enough to understand that he needed to use care near the stairway, so it wasn't too much of an issue.
Due to the restaurant, it was a little noisy till late at night.
Stairs difficult for the more mature ! No lift. No shower - bath only.
