Nice place, really big room, staff great and nice breakfast. Full of character, nice large room, good room and bathroom facilities, good breakfasts, in centre of historic part of Gent. The location was perfect and rooms are beautiful. Staff - they were all very nice and kinde, prepare everything to do best for their guest.The staff where friendly and very helpful.
all reviews » Proximity to the centre of the town. Central location, old but clean hotel. I attended a sciece meeting. Ghent Fest 2008. Central to the old part of the town - very pleasantly situated. Friendliness and efficiency of staff. Central location for access to restaurants and bars on foot. Very Comfortable. Fantastic location and friendly staff. The fact it is right in center town and close to all monuments and areas of interest.The hotel is located in the center of teh city, close to all the touristic attractions. It is an old building and therefore the distribution o the rooms reflected that. The room and bathroom were clean. Location.location good. It was one of the worst hotels I have been in Belgium. Very old furniture, bad look from the window plus they will charge your card and than block the same amount on top of that.The radiator did not work in the room but the bathroom one was walm enough to heat the whole place. They only had €50 internet cards and there was no internet cafe within walking distance. Breakfast: we arrived 15 mins before end of service but there were no cups, no eggs, no butter and staff disappeared.Hotel publicity mentions "fully renovated" rooms. Whilst this applied to the bathroom, the bedrooms were from an older period. No problem in terms of comfort, but certainly no more than 2 star standard. The big disappointment was that the building was not the Cour St Georges I expected (the one that's been there since the 9th century), but a more recent 18th century building across the road. No Bar and no Resturant. Internet was twice the advertised price. Actual price was 10 euro an hour. The breakfast described as exceptional and in reality absolutely nothing special.The staff at the reception was not unpolite but it was not friendly either. MOreover, usually you haave to wait so that someone comes at the reception. Microscopic room. The refurbishment has been done probably last time in late 80s of past century.The room had not been checked beforehand. There were dead mosquitoes in the bath and squashed on the walls complete with their blood! The decor was dated and whole hotel needs modernisation. Towels were very old and 1 had large hole in it. We changed rooms after first night but second one was the same. Would not stay here again. Dirty, old, smelly. rubbish beds, asked for adouble got to singles pushed together. Lots of noise from street due to single glazed window. Needed limbo skills to use the loo as room so small and decour old and tired.
