I live just across the road from the Zeemanshuis and booked a room while some renovation work was taking place in the house. I really enjoyed my stay! It was very interesting to see the variety of guests staying there, from tourists to sailors. I have heard that the hotel is due to be leveled and replaced with shops. I was against this before, and now I support the Zeemanshuis even more passionately! This is a great institution which is important to the local community and represents the char.

Zeemanshuis is a simple, down to earth hotel much like a college dorm. You would be hard pressed to find a better rapport qualite/prix. I have payed much more and gotten much less elsewhere. I don't need chocolates on my pillow.all of the employees and staff at the hotel were friendly and approachable with regard to any queiries you might have. They were customer focussed which was very nice. Excellant customer relationship, the receptionst's(Vincent,Harry?) on duty helped to arrange alternative accomodation in Amsterdam,due to national train strike on sunday 5th October. Heidi, the bar staff stand in had to cover numerous duties during her shifts and i never heard her complain about the predicament faced by her over the amount of work she covered during her shift.Friendly staff, good location, quiet, nice breakfast, possible to get lunch and dinner. Very friendly staff in the bar. WIFI in all public areas at a reasonable charge. Will definitly be staying there again. I was feeleing a warm atmosphere of student dormitory. Room and bathroom. the hotel is closed to the most interesting places in Antwerp, it is comfortable, cheap and you can have a great breakfast included in the price.Situation and price. Fair price, quite clean, the room is a bit small but if you plan to stay for one or two nights, and just looking for a bed, then this hotel is perfect. This is somewhat more than can be said of many hotels. good location, short walk to city centre. nothing. I chose this hotel only because it was very close to the building i had to go.The cooked breakfast could have been better. There was a smaller choise on monday. I would not recommend anybody to have dinner there (too expensive). Free available internet connection downstairs but very limited. Our reservation was NOT known to htel at our arrival. I didnt like that there was no washing gel or anything in the shower.Also the covers on the bed had burn holes in them from smoking.Staff wasnt very good tired to buy a dinner goot told by the man at the cafe to go to receprtion.Then the receprtion lady told me to pay in the cafe so i gave up.Hotel was ok though just small things. We were not aware from website that it was a hotel particularly for Seamen and although hotel catered very well for other tourists it was quite noisy as people arrived at all times of day and night.The hotel had only one room reserved but I had two shown on myreservation documents. They had spare rooms so it was sorted. Noise. very basic hotel, but clean. everything. Bathroom not clean at all, stinky. cigarets holes in my bad (that was a non smoking room), expansive for the quality.
