An amazing location! Literally steps away from the Schonbruun gardens(opposite) and a few minutes walk to the Underground. Very easy to travel into the central district and access the museums and theatres. FABULOUS room facing the courtyard, safe secure and with such helpful attentive staff who even helped us with the bus and underground timetables to catch our flight home. Lovely. Thank you. Breakfast in the smaller dining room allowed us to eat a small breakfast rather than opting for the buf.
all reviews » Vienna, at least city center, is not very large. so even the hotel was not near city center it was very easy to reach by metro or bus. The hotel is breathtaking, historical, beautiful building. Schönbrunn Palace is just around the corner, you may even spend a day here by visiting the palace, the zoo and by taking a walk in the superior gardens. We stayed in a superior room which was very spacious and well-decorated. Bathroom was very modern and clean. Staff was very professional. There is compl. Hotel is newly renovated, clean,quiet and in excellent condition. Stayed here twice on this trip and noted that some bathrooms are a bit small while others are just fine. Rooms are very nice. Very historic facility as it was a former residence of the Hapsburg family. Excellent buffet breakfast which some might consider expensive but alternatives in neighborhood will ultimately cost almost the same or more for much less variety, quality and quantity of excellent food. Great library and inter. If you come by car and your aim is to visit Schonbrunn Palace this is an ideal place. Just leave your car at the garage and begin your visit ti the Palace. The price for parking is not small 24 euros but you are entitled to use it for the whole day even after checking out of the hotel. The hotel is really beatiful. Our room was in the main building where you can enjoy its historical interious with crystall chandeliers. The room was very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was included in the r. The concierge staff very attentive to help us with our luggage when we arrived at the hotel. - The room is clean and can feel the palace atmosphere since the hotel is very near to the Schoenbrunn Palace. - Walking distance to the train station, easy to move around the city - We didn't realize that the room we book is without heater / air conditioning. We were eager to see Emperor Franz Joseph's guest house and we were not disappointed. It was also a convenient location from the underground, so it was very accessible from the bahn station and downtown Vienna. The hotel has been recently renovated and offers clean, well equipped modern rooms with free wi fi. The hotel is loacted about 100m from the Heitzing U bahn statiton. Access to Vienna city center takes 15 minutes. Of course, the stunning Schoenbrunn palace and gardens are across the road. Who could ask for a more pleasant environment? The area also has many restaurants withing easy walking distance. I would certainly stay there again. All of the common areas have been beautifully renovated. Our room was huge and the balcony was overlooking the city. There was no outside noise in the room. Staff were helpful and the parking was convenient. The hotel was clean, nicely decorated and inviting. The staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is very close to the Schonbrunn Palace gardens and we walked there often. There was a nice pastry and coffee shop just down the road and a Lindt chocolate shop on the way to the gardens. This hotel is absolutely fabulous! The structure and design was impecable. It was luxurious with a decent price. nothing. Because the hotel has some odd floor levels the room numbering system and floor level can be confusing. However you get used to this and its not a serious problem. Very nice courtyard but it is not used/developed to its full capacity. At 7.30 in the morning there was a knock at the door asking us if our room may be cleaned. Strange. We came only for one night and it was Sunday. It would have been nice to be able to make our our tea/coffee in our room. If you wanted coffee or tea you had to order room service. The bathroom. It was so small it felt like being in a camper trailer bathroom. The shower was very tiny. The bathroom door would not latch closed. There was nothing we didn't like. Balcony door could not be locked. there was a debutant ball one evening and because of that somehow people smoked inside. You could smell that in the room during the night even while we were on the 2nd floor. Breakfast is good but the hotel is bigger than it seems and you cannot find a clean table at the breakfast hall during peak time. There is not enough waiters for the number of guests and they are not motivated at all. Also if some foods run out early these are not repalced even in an hour before closing time. The price of the breakfast, if not included in the room price is 19 euro; a little high but in line with the hotel standard and the quality and variety of the food is able to satisfy any request. Our room was a long way away from the reception. Toilet room is very small and has not got an extraction fan, bath very deep and no rails to hold on to step in and out of, which made showering difficult for me as got arthritis. There was a sign saying to put used towels you wanted changed to put on floor but to be 'green' use towels again, yet all our towels were replaced every day! Restaurant and bar very expensive!!!. Our first room had a strong aroma of cigarette smoke and with some urging we got the staff to switch us to another room for the second night. Avoid room 3209 - very noisy in the night due to a ventilation center or something like that. First of all I turner off my A/C in my room,but the noise came From the wall behind the bathroom. Pitty,because the hotel is splendid and very quiet.You are freezing at the breakfast,probably a hotel strategy: not so big restaurant,so you have to eat fast. They forgot my wakeup call for 5 a.m. despite 3 requests, including calling them at midnight to remind them one last time. They phoned at 5:15 to say the tax was there and it was a mad scramble to get up, get dressed, get to the Airport. I was MOST upset. In the bathroom there were no body lotion and vanity kit. Breakfast is over-priced. Nothing just i didn't stay longer. Nothing Just that i leaved. The layout of the hotel is a bit complicated and some rooms are located far from reception and main entrance. I,m having to search for negatives, but the tea bags were not nice for uk visitors!. Staff was helpul, but not extremely friendly. Vienna card was not available although it should be. The final bill was handed to me in a closed envelope and not explained to me (which I find totally inacceptable). Far from city centre for us to explore other sights and attractions in Vienna. Our room has a huge bathroom but shower area was disproportionally tiny and did not contain water spillage well. Should have included breakfast as part of room rate. The food on the bar-menu lacks variety, is not healthy and is over-priced. Rather eat at one of the restaurants in the vicinity. I would expect a hotel like this to have tea/coffee facilities in the room. It was a bit noisy if the windows were not shut. Parking was expensive. Nothing not to like about it. We were in room 4310 We like to be able to make a cup of tea in the room. The carpet had stains in about six places, somebody had tried to get the off with bleach. There is a button that you press to put the plug down in the basin,it was sharp the top of it had broken off,it was also very difficult to get the sink empty. The safe wouldn't lock, it needs attention. The remote wasn't working we had to get new batteries put in. The location is quite far to the center. 7 stops with metro. No wi fi in rooms. Breakfast not included in the rate and is expensive if you pay it as extra. The parking for day is also expensive. Missing WIFI connection and A/C in the room. May be a bit noisy when windows are open. In the 'Cafe' there was waiting time for a coffee were 10 and more minutes.Often only 1 waiter. Shower tube is very small. Bed was not too comfortable but overall I loved the hotel!.
