This family-run hotel enjoys a quiet location on the outskirts of St. Johann im Pongau, in the immediate vicinity of the Tauernradweg bike path and the Liechtensteinklamm gorge. Familien- und Relaxhotel Plankenau Wirt offers friendly rooms with balcony, a natural swimming pond, and a new spa area with Finnish sauna, herbal steam bath, solarium, and whirltub. Enjoy traditional cuisine with homemade meat and sausages, as well as a wide choice of wines, in the restaurant. Barbecue evenings are regularly hosted on the sun terrace. For children Hotel Plankenau Wirt offers a small farm with a petting zoo, as well as a playground. In winter the free ski bus takes you to popular Sportwelt Amadé ski area in a few minutes. The slopes end right at the hotel.

Information about the area

The quiet location is ideal for a relaxing holiday.
Skiing in winter with free bus transfer (5 mins.) to the skiing area Salzburger Sportwelt Amadé. You can usually ski down to the hotel.
In summer direct connection to the bicycle track Tauernradweg and ideal starting point for mountain walking, golfing, tennis, riding and swimming. Open season hunting weekends available on demand.

Travelling information

On the highway from Salzburg direction Villach, take the exit for “Bischofshofen”. Continue on the Federal Highway to “Zell am See”, after approx. 8 km you will reach “St. Johann”. Take exit “St. Johann Süd”.
