What a great find this hotel was. It was perfect for our needs. We stayed 1 night and did the Sound of Music tour with Panorama the next day. Free parking at the hotel and we caught bus # 3 into the city from directly outside the hotel. The hotel feels brand new, staff are very courteous and helpful and the room was great. Nice and quiet with beautiful clean white linen. Breakfast was similar to most places in Austria and was sufficient. Overall we would recommend the hotel and would definit.
all reviews » A new building so all furnishings and rooms were in new condition. An excellent room but no excess items - for example, there was no wardrobe which was not a problem. There was a lift. Paid car parking on site or free parking one street behind complex - the hotel was beside a large supermarket with their carpark beside the hotel - parking here for guests not allowed. Adequate breakfast at 7.5 Euro. In the future, we will select this chain again. Extremely good location outside of the crowded town center. The bus stop is literally in front of the entrance a large supermarket is just outside and parking is available for free or for 7EUR per day in a safe garage which is connected via a lift directly to the rooms. The rooms are modern with a nice modern design. The staff has all the necessary information. the facility is quite new since the hotel just opened a couple of years ago。Even though it is not located at the city center，you have access to the bus station in front of the hotel。It takes about 10mins to get to the city.There is a supermarket nearby，and it is a plus if you donot want to pay the extra for the breakfast. The hotel is very nice, with modern furniture and decoration. It is well located: it is easy to get to the center of the city with the bus, and parking is quite cheap in comparison to the parking of the city center. The room is very nice, the bed very confortable and bathroom is modern and clean and the shower is great!. Hotel was clean, modern, quiet and well designed. Staff were very helpful and spoke good English. Buses to the centre of Salzburg stopped just outside. Car park was spacious, free and easy to access. Breakfast was good quality, all you could eat and moderately priced. The staff was very friendly & helpful. I think they went out of their way to help. Loved the air-conditioning and the close proximity to the city center. It took us 6 or 7 mins to get to Mirabellplatz to catch our sightseeing tour bus. The room was ultra modern, clean and functional. The breakfast was great. A large super market was right behind the building. The staff recommended a restaurant Raschofer's Rossbrau, close by and we ate there twice...it was excellent !!. Our first stay at a Motel One and it won't be our last. Nice room, great towels, icy A/C, wonderful breakfast, great value for the price, convenient location and transportation at the front door for anywhere in Salzburg. A bit far from the city center, but the bus station is just in front of the hotel and the connections are very good. Very helpful staff. Clean. It was our second stay there and I am sure next time we will stay also there. Perfect comfort. There is a supermarket and a restaurant next to it where you can eat cheaply if your budget is limited. Motel One is situated about 30-40 minutes walking distance from Salzburg's historic city center. It is situated on a busy main road that leads from the a-10 motorway via Salzburg Süd to the city center. The traffic is heavy during daytime hours. On the other other side of the hotelbuilding there is a big supermarket. In between the hotel and the supermarket there is a parking lot. The hotelstaff was friendly, the hotel is clean, the rooms practical. (But small). If you plan to spend a lot of ti. Staff at the reception is very friendly and helpful and the rooms are compact but comfortable. Location is good with the hotel located right next to the bus stop. City centre can be reached easily by bus and takes 10-12mins. A big grocery store and coffee shop is located next to the hotel, across the parking lot, perfect for buying breakfast/light meal and water/drinks. Don't make the same mistake we did of taking the train to the "nearest" station and walking from there, as it is just a 10 minute bus ride from the main station in Salzburg. Very basic room as expected. honestly....a bar fridge would of been awesome but there is a super market next door with tons of cheap beer so perhaps not the best idea to have fridges in the rooms. Also tea costs €2.5. Even crabby hostels provide free tea. Need a car because not in the center. Finally, I paid more then I expected when I booked room. They charged for parking. It is a Motel, shouldn't be free for parking?. No soap provided in the bathrooms and the wifi connection did not work very well. Location was not the best. It's quite far from the center. Pillows filled with synthetic. It is a bit far from the center but bus no. 3 or 8 can solve the problem. extremely limited space for cloth storage in the room. verry thin bed pillows. Situated near a busy road. The hotel rooms are very good isolated, so you don;t hear the traffic with the windows closed, but this means it can be quit warm in your room. And since the airconditioning was switched to heating only (summer season was over), we could not cool/ventilate our room properly. 30-40 minutes walking distance from city center, but if you don't mind and use public transport, this should not be a problem. It is merely a place to sleep, not a place to spend much time.. It is a very basic hotel with no phones in the rooms, so if you have any issues you have to go to the reception each time. They did not have shower caps even though we asked. Housekeeping was not good. We could see dust on the table in the room and the bathroom sink area was also not cleaned well during our 3 night stay. The room is a bit too spartan and could have had a little more homely feel to it. The rooms are extremely small. - No wardrobe (a small open place behind the bed that hides clothes) - Small room for long durations. A member of the staff was not nice. Also one needs a car.
