It was very close to the beach and the free public transport, which were buses and only a short walk to the centre of the city. It was very easy to get around, the weather was perfect and the motel was very easy to find, plenty of signage to tell you where to go. the rooms were a good size and comfortable. The staff are very helpful and friendly. The rooms are clean and comfortable and well equipped with microwave etc, and even those with city view have a view of the water from the balcony. The location is great for both the beach and the city. It is great value for money.
all reviews » the room was very big and comfortable. Having a balcony and some fresh air was also a bonus. The whole place was exceptionally clean especially considering its age. Harbour & ocean views from the room and balcony were superb. Boat Harbour Motel is in an excellent location for walking to waterfront, coffee shops and the beach. The hotel is in a lovely location. The staff are friendly but unobtrusive. The rooms are very clean, no bed bugs!! facilities very good. and economically priced. A little tired, but a wonderful location. Nothing I didn't like but there are some small maintenance issues that need attention but nothing that detracts from the overall good experience. No hairdryer. The room I booked was actually a larger room , but I was only told on the check-out, make sure next time to ask for the right room and the seaview!!. Dollar for dollar excellent choice. Weather! a microwave oven could have been useful. no in room dining service room would have been more spaciious without the single bed that I had to ask for towels - there was only a single bath towel in the bathroom when I arrived. The room was well appointed but a little tired. It needed a little TLC. The room had a kitchenette but only one knife!!. There really wasn't anything I didn't like about this motel, and next time I'm in Wollongong I'll be staying there again. The yobs who knocked on the door and yelled out both nights, The lack of a bath and hairdryer - things we are used to. The rooms were a little outdated and tired looking. No bathroom exhaust fan. nothing. TV reception some channels not good. No microwave, little noisy,. Old building needs some TLC. The internal walkways really needed a clean, spruce up. Would have preferred a Queen sized bed rather than a Double and without the Single bed (that was not required). One of the shower rooms was quite old. a couple of easy chairs would have been nice. Nothing really. didn't like the noise from a/c would be nice to have a microwave in room.....needs new airconditioning. Kitchenette could do with more facilities. N/a. nothing. Nothing. Couldn't adjust shower head. The mattress was old and needs to be thrown away as it had a noticeable dip in it. Water noise throughtout the night may have been water feature in court yard. Facilities need some sprucing up, such as a lick of paint and modernising. Its about 50yrs old and looks it. The outlook is very dreary and Wollongong itself is not a very inviting city for tourists. Lack of attention to detail, hair in sink, broken light bulb, dated decor. 'Ocean View' room had view obscured by very large tree. Quite noisy at times. Near to harbour, but remote from town. Couldn't find a hairdryer in the place and also the cutlery and crockery was short of bowls and spoons. The decor is dated.
