Excellent staff and service; Food and bar service was excellent; Parking was good and easy; Room was well maintained, well presented and clean; and Although building work was being carried out around and within the hotel this was well controlled and safe.. with staircases being roped off to ensure clientele safety.. All in all.. I would recommend this hotel to other without any hesitation.
all reviews » Usually when I cvome to sydney it is not to the Eastern Suburbs.This time I was attending a wedding at Vaucluse Huse so the hotel was great.I Was sorry that I could not stay another night but had committments at home.Enjoyable stay and very quiety. The hotel was very clean and staff friendly. The rate was excellent. Only a twenty minute ferry ride to the city with beautiful views. Hotel has great eating facilities with the best views across the city. I would highly recommend this hotel. The room was spacious and comfortable, the balcony was great. The view down the harbour is like nothing else in the world, of the city. Room 111 is the room to get at this hotel. Loved every minute of it. Peter and Di Beckford. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Went out of their way to assist with any requests. The location is stunning. Room overlooking park was quiet even when there was considerable noise when the balcony door was open. Very nice newly renovated hotel with upmarket rooms. Harbour view room was excellent. Fabulous bathroom with nice deep soaking tub. Beautiful views in a delightful peaceful location. I'd highly recommend this hotel. The room was great - very clean and set up was great - the kids had their own little room upstairs away from the adults! The dining area in the hotel is beautiful. Location on the bay, the view from the balcony, the size of the room, the close proximity to the pool and easy access to walking path and ocean views. Clean & well presented room. Good continental breakfast supplied in the restaurant & the best $10 steaks at the bar at night. the rooms were excellent. We ate at night time and the food too was excellent. I walked around the area and it is very pleasant. Lovely comfortable room. View was amazing. Great location for the weeding we attended at Dunbar House. Then again there's never a good time; Ferry return times from the quay to Watson bay.. Once again this is out of your control;. Walking through the rain to get breakfast but I guess it did not matter that much!. There was nothing we did not like. The room could be a little cleaner - particularly the carpet and the skirtings. The food & cocktails in the outside bar wasn't anything to rave about. Was very worried about the very steep stairs on the room with small children and the hotel is currently being renovated so the outdoor seating/ eating area was inaccessible and a mess. Leaving. Noisy outdoor cleaners at 6am and an outside blind that banged against a railing all night which wasn't anyone's fault. The cleaners need to be mindful of guests though. Nothing!. harbour view room - terribly noisy as the outdoor bar is directly below the rooms. in addition, there was a very loud band playing from about 9pm until 11.30pm. We 'discussed' with staff in the morning the fact we had been unable to sleep, and offered 15% discount. Be aware, they are extending and building a new bigger bar in the same location, as well as a major function room. Perfect, but not 'boutique' with 'ambience' as described on their website. The room wasn't ready for us to check in, which we only found out after we'd checked in and gotten to the room. Didn't like the birds/pidgeons walking on the tables. No secure car parking, noise from downstairs. Nothing. not enough casual seating outside of the pub. Nothing to complain about!. The receptionist could not find our booking claiming that no booking had been made. When I showed her the printed confirmation we were told that they would provide us with an upgraded suite at no extra cost. We booked a suite, were given a suite and paid the rack rate. Not sure where the upgrade or no additional cost played a part. Noise from pub. Breakfast was downstairs in the open area, rather than in the dining room, with staff pressure washing the outside area while we had breakfast. We have stayed at this hotel a number of times and return every year for our wedding anniversary. In comparison to all of our previous stay's the breakfast as unfortunately declined in value. We felt they only had about 20% of what they normally offer. Whilst what was on offer was fresh, it almost wasn't worth going to have. We would have preferred to pay a couple of dollars less for the room and had breakfast elsewhere. We could not get anyone to attend to us at breakfast so we just seated ourselves and ate but we were not offered to buy coffee. the scenery was beautiful ....sorry these are both in wrong boxes..... Heating didn't work in room, food quality was average, room not properly equipped and prepared prior to arrival, wifi access was restrictive. Staff were appalling Arrogance Rudeness Couldn't be bothered to make me a proper margharita despite paying $16 for one.. I was clearly an inconvenience for not ordering a glass of wine or a beer. Staff service was very average, not overly helpfully or friendly. Breakfast was really poor. The photos of the room on the website did not match the actual room. t.v not working moved to a room that had no park view and no bath and had two single beds pushed together to make one king bed not the best expeirence one would expect from a hotel like this very disapointed with stay. teething problems with new telephones and TV's. Very coarse linen. Furnishings have seen better days. Overpriced for what you get and no parking .
