The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The location was quiet and absolutely lovely. Included breakfast smorgasbord was brilliant. Would definitely recommend it to couples and families and we would stay there again without hesitation. Internet would be an asset. Our whole rottnest lodge experience was excellent. The location, facilities and in particular the staff were all excellent. I real taste of colonial Australia and I would recommend to anyone.

The staff were excellent and the location was wonderful. The breakfast was also great and the restaurant offers a good selection of foods at reasonable prices. The Lodge is centrally situated and staff very friendly. The restaurant food was nice and it was a bonus having the breakfast included in our booking. Rottnest Lodge very central to all amenities. Nice pool to relax at - especially if it's too hot to be out in the full sun on one of the beaches. Fantastic island resort. Friendly helpful staff. Old buildings refurbished to a high standard. They had a good band in the Govenors Bar on sat night. Nice linen. The lack of cars, charming ambiance, great snorkel spots, clean beaches, cute quakkas, friendly folks, big showers. Very quaint family apartments plenty of room service everyday later in the day n quick breakfast was good. We liked the whole atmosphere about the island, the people, the animals. The pool area is beautifully landscaped and attractive. The location is terrific. Breakfast not bad. I like the accessibility to both ferry and bus service. Its walking from the main shopping area. Nothing. Nothing. The rooms are fairly basic for the $200 plus price tag. 1. We sisters would have liked a small table with 2 chairs so we could sit and drink tea/coffee comfortably (in room 3 in the Quad). 2. Perhaps parties could be better held around the pool so as to avoid disturbing guests staying in the Quad. We didn't mind but others may. Realise Lodge is quite old but found room to be very hot and no air conditioning. Ceiling fan did not make any difference. No air con, just fans in the rooms. No airconditioning. The noisy fan in our room 15/16. The loose fitting on the bedside lamp, if you bumped the lamp the lamp either flicked or went out. It looks a bit run down these days, rooms especially. A lot of noise from vehicles early in the morning. Some construction going on I think. The very hard beds. no complaints. Shower bit old Lights too dim Need separate switches in bathrm so you don't have the exhaust going all the time Spa booked out :(. There was nothing we didnt like about the island except our stay was not long enough. Hair dryer was old and sticky. No aircon, although fan was enough for the time we were there. No air conditioning, in the climate that we have here in Perth it is crazy! Shower kept going from warm to cold. Bathroom wasn't cleaned very well when we arrived, lots of hair under the sink. Well seriously what's not to like. the room was cleaned with a very strong bleach that was quiet overpowering. Nothing, I had a wonderful time!. Cost a little too high for what the room was , compared with overseas luxury resort rooms are much cheaper per night. The bed and pillows were very uncomfortable. And the blinds didn't go all the way down to cover the window. We had to put a towel there for our privacy. The remote for the tv didn't work. Room 5. The dishes were really dirty in the restaurant I put many plates and bowls aside at breakfast as they had food and dirt on. I pointed this out to the staff both mornings they didn't seem to care. Very disappointing glad I didn't have to pay for a meal on a dirty dinner plate. That there was no air con in our room and our fan was noisy. breakfast although more than ample was very ordinary was poorly cooked. eggs were runny and not very appetising. breakfast was such that you would not comeback for seconds. I wish I had have been reminded what time breakfast was! I didn't realise it was included :-( should have read my fine print. Vacuuming at 5:30am; our room was no 1. Pool not available for use. Leaving. Ceiling fan was very noisy, pillows were terrible. Possibly over-priced for the standard offered and in comparison with alternative destinations. no gym or comfortable chairs in room. too noisy as I was near the road, breakfast was very basic,. Door to next room was unlocked. No aircon in room. The bigger rooms needed a table/chairs that a family could eat take-away meals, play cards, etc',. No airdonditioning and was very hot. quality of food is poor. The bed and pillows were very hard. Marketing the rooms under the name 'lakeside rooms' is a blatant lie. Hardly any of the rooms are even remotely close to a lake. Ours had glimpses of a distant lake from the back door when looking over rows of tin and concrete rooftops. Cleaners kept insisting on coming to clean the room at 8.30am... And breakfast closes at 9.30. This doesn't fit so well with the concept of being on holiday, sleeping in and being provided with a holiday experience. That there wasn't any "kitchen" facilities. Only tea and coffee provided and for the price I would have liked a couple of knives/forks/plates. Which I did go and borrow from the kitchen staff (who were very nice about it). Our standard room was like a cell and was old and shabby, until we were moved to a deluxe and the room was much better. We stayed in the palm court area and the rooms and environs are a bit tired and badly in need of a refurbishment. It would have been nice to have our own table and chairs outside the room to dry wet beach towels. Also beach towels available for hire or with a deposit would be good. There was no arrangement for mosquitos in the room, which left me and my girlfriend with a poor experience at the lodge. Spending $490 for 2 nights should include basic things which a traveller may not be prepared for... :(.
