The setting was amazing. The log cabin was very bright and spacious. The location was good. Extremely luxurious for a lodge, log cabin at the price we paid. Wonderful to see and hear the wildlife around us. Although we didn't use the restaurant it was within the resort and appeared to have an excellent menu. There was a wedding reception whilst we were there. Fantastic location for it. This restaurant was on the edge of the lake.
all reviews » Everything! The views from our bungalow were spectacular. The room was beautifully furnished and appointed. Every surface was spotlessly clean and well maintained. The restaurant made a fabulous breakfast buffet for a very good price and the staff could not have been more helpful. They even provided lemons and honey for my wife who caught a cold. the location & settings are a big bonus. As part of a Tassie school holiday trip with 19, 16 & 12 yr old kids there was something for everyone. We were able to take a leisurely walk along the beach, enjoy really nice food & hospitality, have a hit of tennis, and get to the Port Arthur historical site - fantastic!!. We had a one-bedroom cottage and it was perfect. The cottages are placed among trees and sitting on our patio we could see the beach and the water. It is a very private setting. The cottages are well equipped and very comfortable. The employees were very nice and helpful. We liked that the accommodation was close to the Port Arthur site and that it was very comfortable, clean and warm. We stayed two days in May for the express purpose of visiting the heritage site and were very happy with Stewarts Bay Lodge. After having a mishap in our allocated accommodation,the staff help us relocate to a new bungalow,which was so luxurious and very much appreciated.We loved it all,and will be back.Will recommend to all our friends and family. Wished we could have stayed more than one night, definately will recommend to anyone visit the Tasman Region, Port Arthur and boat tours. It's proximity to Port Arthur Historic Site and the fact that we could walk to it via a nature trail where we encountered local animals. Excellent views and it was so peaceful. Excellent Bed. The cabins were set in the bush with the wild life right at your door. we all like the state of the cabins and the roof sky lights. They are well maintained. THe cabin was good, as was the proximity to the Port Arthur Heritage Site. excellent restaurant with very helpful staff / somellier. Locatin to Pt Arthur. Location, food. Near port auther. Although it stated on the spec. provided by Bookings that there was air con in the accommodation we'd booked there wasn't. The flyer we picked up also stated all lodges had air con. However, it did say in the information provided in the cabin that air con was only provided in the deluxe lodges. We did not find a washing machine. We were travelling for several days and it would be nice to be able to wash and dry clothes. having to leave due to time restraints with our travel arrangements... n/a. A new vegie peeler would be good!. Price was a little high for a family of 5. We had a 3 1/2 star but a heater in the bathroom would have been beneficial. no heating in the bedroom other than electric blankets. The woman who checked us in was one, if not the only less than totally friendly people we encountered in 17 days in Australia. Washing machine was complicated and we couldnt get it to work. Restaurant was closed on the night we were there but I guess the chef needs a night off. The restaurant was closed both nights we stayed, unforseen circumstances, but there is not much option to eat out at a decent restaurant. Nothing. We could only make emergency calls on our cell phones due to lack of signals from our telecom. And we nearly couldn't have dinner, when the grocery shops closed and our restaurant and nearby restaurants were closed. NOTHING! Well, maybe there could be more path-lighting, to guide us back to our cabin after dinner. Nothing. On site restaurant closed for dinner. Sofa was not particularly comfortable. Kitchen appliances were very old. Kettle very stained and chipped. Fan in bathroom really loud. The lounge/couch was uncomfortable and the bed was a little hard. We couldn't take advantage of the school holiday discount because we booked through letsbookhotel.com. Visit was in off season, services offered did not meet expectations. The paths are horrific - too narrow and unlit at night, we twice scraped the car. Lighting is a major issue. There was no torch (until one of the wait staff found one for us) and the entrance to the unit was very hazardous. The menu at the bistro lacks any imaginative vegetarian options, the lighting is too low, and it is overpriced. The heating in the unit was inadequate. Was disappointed that I booked the spa deluxe one bedroom and it wasn't on the water like the photo it's view was of another house :-( this was disappointing. Wanted to sit back in the spa looking over the water. nothing. Was not impressed by restaurant being closed when we booked because it had one. Staff not very informative of area and dithery.Lacked customer service. That we had to go home. Everything!. These days one expects both heating and cooling in accommodation, considering the cost of hiring the accommodation facilities There was no cooling in our cabin and we experienced one day of 37 degrees and others in the high twenties. Some of the crockery and cutlery needed re-washing before we could use them. The staff in the restrauant were very snobby. The 4 of us are in our 60s and we were laughing and having a good time and we were told to be quite. No body was talking. I asked him if it was a restrauant of a morgue. Cabins were basic ( we didn't have a luxury cabin they advertised) fly screens didn't cover the whole windows so couldn't open windows. Small bathroom. Electricity was out for the first 3 hours we were there. Staff were a bit iffy. It seemed like they weren't really trying. The little milks in the fridge were nearly all out of date. repeated loud noises through the night from under the floor . possible animal or plumbing . neighbours didnt notice it. Signage. Slightly frosty reception. restaurant closed too early. We are happy to bring the rubbish out when checking out. But it makes people feel uncomfortable as it is a requirement for guest. The hotel's restaurant cannot meet the need for the lodger. If you check- in later，you can not even find another available restaurant near there(within 10km).
