Great value for money, really friendly staff. Great pool with excellent waterslide to keep the kids amused. Good shallow pool for toddlers. Nice deep sink in room for washing baby bottles, no need to wash them in the bathroom. Nice outside space on the ground floor - recommend ground floor rooms. It was the perfect place to stay after a 3 days/2 nights cruise through the Whitsundays. The staff was super friendly with us and the facilities were delightful. We really rested while staying here and we would definitely return to the resort if traveling to North Queensland.

The view of the pool from the room is lovely. The room itself very clean, cool and comfortable. Staff were so helpful and friendly. 11 am checkout gives you that little bit more time in the morning. Very comfortable resort. Good breakfast.great location - not right on waterfront,but within easy walking distance to everything.Spacious,clean accommodation. Our bed was SOOO comfortable, staff were welcoming, children welcome in all area's of the resort, food outstanding and our room was very clean :). Great value for money. Restful surroundings, I was able to relax the moment I got there. I would highly recommend the Novotel. Very comfortable rooms, great buffet breakfast included in my tariff. Great pool. Bathroom seemed a bit run down (like it had a half-baked makeover, complete with bogged drill holes in wall and paint drops on the vanity bench), had too many hairs from previous occupants and grime seemed to accumulate in the bathroom corners. No fan in bathroom. One of the beds was so wonky my 2 year old rolled out of bed. Absolutely nothing. When inquired day before arrival,was told no record of our booking. letsbookhotel.com were excellent in sorting this out;fault lay totally with Novotel,not with letsbookhotel.com. Big resort;fair bit of walking & stair climbing to get to room.Perhaps that can't be helped!. The only complaint was no TV in the main bedroom but really wasnt an issue. We had to pay transfers to take any tour - would factor that in next time. Nothing. Air conditioner temperature control in rooms not great. Fruit and some fruit juice not always fresh. Fresh fruit mixed with some that are already fermenting at breakfast. No complementary bottled water in rooms. I had to caarry my bags up stairs by myself to my room and I had difficulty finding my room, which meant I walked around for ages with my heavy bags. The air con in our room was permanently on cold; when we called maintenance, they were prompt but said it was faulty so we could either have it completely off or switch rooms. We told them to switch it off but really it needs to be improved so that the rooom teperature can be adjusted (ie not just on or off). cleaning in the rooms was not so ok. No cooking facilities in room. The location was not convenient but palm cove is a pretty beach and worth the while. Mixed up our room initially. Had to move the next day. Hotel seemed to be overbooked. Internet unreliable and expensive. * Carrying back through long outdoor maze and up stairs to get to room * Limited restaurant options - after lining up at bar to order an advertised dish which wasn't available that night, ended up walking into town for dinner instead * Bathroom dated and clock in bedroom had digits missing * Took 2 attempts to get fresh milk for room * One girl (new?) on reception not very good - other staff good though * No free wifi in room * Limited TV stations. The rooms are in need of some TLC , our room had a faulty toilet seat & a towel rail that fell down !!! Also there were a lot of screaming children in the pool , which for an older couple was a bit too much . Reception desperately under-staffed Bathroom VERY tired and in need of renovation Problems with TV remote weren't addressed. cold meals, verandah dirty outdoor chairs dirty, no toilet brushes in bathroom. No restaurant open at night, pool area needs upgrading and the water was warmer than a bath. no hot water on our first night. no lights around grounds and buildings on the second night. Air con was either cold or cold,no chance to change the temp. Breakfast wasvery poor, they didnt re stock the hot food so we just seemded to get the scraps and that was at 9am. All in all the buildings need a lot of work to bring this resort up to scratch. Poor kitchen........lots of ants...... Everything was good.
