We have been going to the Islander for over 15 years off and on, we love the fact you can park your car and not use it until its time to leave, our kids were young then, then teenagers, the pool and facilities great for forming new friendships, and renewing old ones. The units are breezy and comfortable, self-contained which is great for all, we can cook up a storm, or dine at any of the great locations nearby, or just throw a line in the river and see what we can catch. all reviews » I love the laid back style of Noosa & the staff here are so friendly.We have 2 boys 10 & 12 there very good & very patient,we,ve stayed at a few places and they explain clearly to our HYPERACTIVE boys what not to do instead of the other places we stayed the managers being totall nazis not here. I love it here!! Its so clean & once you pay thats it you dont have to keep paying ie:linen,servicing etc etc. It was perfect! Very well situated right on the river and in the middle of Noosaville shops, opposite the ferry wharf to Noosa Heads, yet it was quiet, peaceful, and beautifully landscaped, with great swimming lagoons, heated pool and spas. Dozens of birds twittering at dawn and dusk. Each villa fully self contained, comfortable, spacious and well equipped. We liked the amazing central pool. The smaller heated pool was great for kids. The two spas were lovely. The units were great. We had all we needed for two young children. The location was great particularly as we didn't have a rental car - we could catch a bus or ferry right outside the resort. The service was always really good at the reception desk. Full presentation from reception till departure..i have designed several top resorts in fiji & Pacific over 25 years & the design ,well laid out leads to relaxation the gardens are well kept & in fact the whole resort is a credit to all staff internal & outdoors. Unit 48 was an excellent 2 bedroom unit. Staff great. Location great - lots of shops and restaurants around and river directly across road with activities like hire of boats/kayaks/jet skis and also ferry rides. Moondoggies Restaurant the best. The grounds were beautiful. Pool areas were amazing. We were impressed that they had a hoist for people with limited mobility to use the pools. Reception staff very welcoming and friendly. Our 7 year old loved it!. location was perfect for us. being able to park and leave the car and walk to restaurants, park and water activities. location of the unit was great for us as a couple - away from the pool and kids and party goers. the pools were beautiful & clean, grounds well kept, our room was excellent location to pool & bbq.. location of resort excellent, walking distance to everything necessary.. The staff were very courteous. Within easy reach of everything and the surrounding were kept clean and tidy. The apartment was very clean and it was a very peaceful area. Quiet. Fijian islander feel. Well equipt. Resort atmosphere. Older style but welcoming, friendly clean, etc. close to river, restaurants, etc. The whole resort was excellent, was very neat and clean. Would recommend to stay here. Close to shops, river and places to eat. Staff was fantastic, beautiful place, tonnes of great amenities, location is great with very good restaurants all around. Position,staff.pool.spa's,villa unit,great for kids all ages,adult facilities great. A buffet breakfast would have been brilliant but they do have this unfortunately. They did have a cafe with good service and food though. A bit more communal space outside of the units would have been great but this was taken up with the pools/tennis courts/walkways. If I had to think about it maybe I may find something but why. Everything was perfect. lounge chairs were a little uncomfortable but not enough to prevent us returning. gym hours could be extended, for with children you only get to go after they are in bed. nothing. Too many lights left on throughout the resort. Eg outside lights etc When arriving in unit fans were on plus windows open plus air on on. Could be more eco friendly perhaps....would save lots on their power bills!. The only thing wrong was the dryer didn't work properly, and it was a bit hard to park a car in the garage. we noticed an increasingly bad smell coming out of our bathroom floor drain. No complaints from any of our family,kids or adults. the ceiling fans need some attention! The bedrooms were a little noisy :). Loved everything. Leaving. No real view except within the resort. 40 kids around the pool, no peace and quiet there. Decor a little dated, but considering the price this is to be expected. Not adequate FREE internet. Hard bed. Only one small pool was heated i think the main pool should be heated more during winter, especially for the school holidays. N/a. nothing. The room could do with a coat of paint, general clean up. That we had to leave!. The Villa upstairs bedrooms need a lot of up dating , the carpets are very old and dirty! Also the bathroom needs attention , cleaning !. bedroom carpet in villa unit was disgustingly smelly. I would not recommend this place until they advertise that they have replaced all the bedroom floor coverings. Terrible hard beds, villa needs a bit of repair in the kitchen. nothing. When we booked the unit I was unaware that it was made up of 3 levels which made things somewhat difficult for my elderly mother. loved everything. Too small ensuite. tired ,needs an uplift,lack of space immediately outside unit. To call the units "villas" is misleading,conveys a standard of accomodation that does not exist.
