The housekeeper Kaaren was VERY friendly and helpful.The guesthouse would not be the same without her! She really means a difference! I hope she gets a god salary for her work! The rooms are so and so in general. My room nr. 5 was although very nice especially compared to the rooms on the ground floor. The location is excellent a short ride with tram 112 to the city and very close to Botanical Garden - easily within walking distance - and close to tram 96 to the beach.

Dusty room corner and air con hose Room is dark, which not match the photo description a easily can be missed main door entrance Acceptable Wi-Fi coverage and speed, bad signal on bed. - Smoke alarm hanging open - appeared not to be working - Air con/heater appeared not to be working (I had it set to the maximum of 32 degrees and room was still very cold after an hour) - and no extra blankets provided - No toiletries shelf in the bathroom or shower - this sounds like a minor thing but there was literally nowhere to put my things other than the toilet seat - Cord for kettle didn't reach powerpoint - another minor thing, but I love tea :). none. Unfortunately other staying guests had no consideration for others and chatted and laughted until about 3.30am in the communial kitchen making it impossible for 3 of my family members to sleep. Would have been good if duty manager on site had of asked these guest to vacate and retire to their rooms. When i tried to contact the staff (3 times by phone) on sunday morning, (to confirm my check out was actually monday) they could not be contacted. Upon arriving in melbourne, i found out that skybus (courtesy shuttle) does not do drop off/pick up in South Melbourne, and the day i left i had to pay $14 for luggage to be left in a locker at skybus terminal, which i can not afford. For these reasons, i would not stay at this guest house again, nor would i recommend them to other travellers. it's quite far from the public transportation. but if you drive it's not a problem. Key was hard to get out. All was ok - considering the price - the entrance/stairway could be improved. Needed some attention. I would prefer if they can support Microwave in both stories. Wht was there not to like lol. Nothing in mind and word to state any dislike. The pillows were terrible and should be thrown straight in the bin! Everything was okay, certainly in relation to price, but definitely not a fancy place. Carparking was a bit misleading, it was very find as you go and nothing 'reserved for guests' as we were under the impression. The bed was too hard and the frame wobbled so it banged against the wall whenever I moved. The walls aren't well insulated so you can hear everything going on inside and outside, so quality of sleep isn't great. But for one or two nights it's fine. No heater in the lounge area. Hard to find. Not signed. Filthy stairway. Had jug but no cups, crockery, utensils etc. A/ poor signage to identify appartments. B/ beds need new softer mattresses. C/ lack of proper lay to facilicty. D/ lack of close private secure parking. E/ rooms are old style & need an upgrade /makeover. F/ upon arrival place was locked up, no one on site, had to ring A mobile number, on piece of paper to get place opened up, 30 mins. later. No sign outside, no fridge, no table, no chairs, no dvd player, no smoke alarm, had to lock the door from the outside and not much room. The smell as we entered the building. The tv/dvd was the colour red, we took a dvd to watch but the screen produced a red picture only. The bed has wheels on it and moves around with the greatest of ease. It is a cold building it would be nice for the heater to be on prior to arrival. Shower wasn't able to handle the pressure and at full it bent back and sprayed water everywhere. The bed was on wheels and moved all over the place. It smelled of something terrible being cooked. Was very misrepresented by ratings and pictures. People coming in late At night not considering others that were asleep ie noisy footsteps banging doors shut loudly even though there was a sign on the door asking people to be quiet. Room is a bit small. Bed is too soft ( overused). The fridge in the downstairs living room dirty - needs cleaning. almost every thing. When I arrived they didnt have any record of my reservation. Staff came and knocked on my door 3 times and interupted me. My payment had not been processed prior to my arrival. Very dirty. The room we placed in for the evening appeared freshly painted that day windows had to stay open due to smell, no battery in smoke detector or dvd player as stated on the advertisement. It was filthy...there was a clump of black hair in one of the "OLD" towels supplied. There was a long black hair on the toilet seat. There were black hairs on the pillows. This was a disgrace and you people should be ashamed to be involved with such a second rate and disgustingly filthy place. I will NEVER book through again because you put me into the dirtiest accommodation I have ever experienced!. Noise, access, mess, dirty floors, hard bed, people coming in at 1am making lots of noise, with no soundproofing, guest areas with clothes lying around, sink full of dirty dishes, no fridge in upstairs area, only 2 mugs available for upstairs - I won't keep going...
