The Grange is perfectly situated in the heart of Margaret River, yet the surroundings give you the sensation of being in a quiet country setting. Our room was spacious and though the furnishings were quite dated this created a cottage feel that we quite liked. We had a front door with parking right outside, also a back door that led to the gardens, these could do with a little TLC and a table and chairs outside the llittle bay window. At the front is a lovely pool setting complete with waterfal.
all reviews Location is good close enough to town to walk. Peaceful setting with a courtyard and a barbecue if desired. Lots of birds. Not too big that there is going to be lots of comings and goings with people. Room warmed up quickly once air cond was turned on and the air cond was very quiet. The room was very clean with complimentary tea coffee provided. There was also a back door which opened out onto a balcony overlooking a tennis court along with a well maintained garden. We would stay there aga. We liked the Victorian feel of the decor in our room, with the canopy bed and dark wood trim, cabbage roses, etc. We loved the old "grange" where the dining room felt like we were going back in time, and the spacious covered veranda where we had breakfast. The staff was unfailing polite and helpful, which was also a plus. It was just a short walk into the center of town, so it was very convenient, and we felt it was a good value compared to other places we checked. Great location - excellent value. Rooms budget but quite nicely appointed in a traditional way and quite spacious - including a bonus single bed. Queen bed mattress OK. has a restaurant - good for brekky - al fresco areas and a pool. . Too cold to enjoy my visit but would be a bonus in the summer.Also nice, shaded private veranda off room. A nice place to stay to go on a winery tour. A couple mins walk to Margaret river Main Street. Lovely friendly staff and comfy bed. Mattress just OK. rest exceeded expectation s for the price. * My pillow was a bit hard for me; I prefer a soft pillow so I swapped my husband's pillow - problem solved!. Just a small thing: if the light bulb in the room's (rm #1) entrance hall could be changed for a warm white, brighter light (LED's last for years), that would look and feel better, I think. Other than that, all was great. The restaurant was a bit pricey. The breakfast was a little over priced for the amount we ate. Also the mattress wasn't the most comfortable to sleep on. There is nothing I didn't like about this motel. Will definitely stay here again if ever we are in the area. The rooms are a bit dated but still clean and comfortable. Nowhere to put things in the bathroom. Light bulbs needed in the room, Light bulbs blown . Bedside picture light non existent.We would have appreciated a dock so we could charge phones etc. nothing. What was there not to like. nothing. Rooms are very dated and could do with an update/modernising. No comments applicable. The room was very dusty, and the restaurant was a let down. Although the service was great, the food was not and I left feeling disappointed. They did try to make it up to me, which I greatly appreciated but I probably wouldn't eat there again. the motel seemed a little out dated, but with that being said it is not bad at all!. Nothing. The fridge in the room made an incredible amount of noise. Hopefully they have fixed that. There was no free to air TV only foxtel. WIFI not available. Nothing. Beds were creaky, decor a bit dated. The poor exchange rate makes the meal expensive. It was a bit old fashioned in decor, there was only one toilet roll in the room. Cold bathroom, cistern left running by staff, difficulty filling jug, low shower height. Paid for breakfast. Arrived before 9am for it. Told sorry we have a conference. No breakfast available. They should have informed other guests. Wi-fi charge - not cheap. Even though there were only a few people staying, we were all placed next to each other. Having more space between would have been preferred considering the amount of vacancy. the bed was very hard and the lights in the kitchen area didnt work making it hard to unpack my gear particularly given that they requested you not put suitcases on beds but on the rack near the kitchen area. Electrical maintenance was lacking. One light inoperative. The noisey fridge motor that kept us awake at night. We did mention it to reception who said it should have been changed but it till made the same noise o we had to ditch it off to be ble to sleep. Bed was non-supportive/pillows were old and matted,night lights needed to be brightness adjusting.i would try other hotels first due to sleeping facilities.
