Kings Canyon Resort facilities include a tennis court, general store, souvenir shop, shared laundry facilities and petrol station. Tour desk and postal services are also available.
Guests can chose between backpacker accommodation in the outback or private rooms. All units contain insect screens, air conditioning, tea/coffee making facilities and extra blankets. Interconnecting rooms are available.
Guests can make use of the resort's outback barbecue and grill facilities or choose a private 6-course campfire gourmet dining experience.
Kings Canyon is located 3 hours' drive from both Ayers Rock (Uluru) and Alice Springs. Watarrka National Park is 7 km away.

We stayed at the Kings Canyon Resort for one night. The location is excellent. The room was clean, quiet but basic for the money that you are paying, although it must cost alot more to run a resort in the middle of nowhere. The staff at the reception were pleasant and very helpful. On checking in I was given a $50 resort credit voucher. I used the voucher towards the cost of our meal at the bistro in tavern. I must say that the food was excellent. I would recommend you stay the night at Kings. all reviews
Although building didn't look appealing rooms were pleasantly well designed, with modern luxurious touch, large and comfortable. Nice patio too... This is the only place to stay in Kings Canyon, and it is in the middle of a desert, I didn't expect such a nice room. It is expensive, but as soon as I entered a room I felt that it's worth the money. We stayed only one night so we didn't use any facilities.
The quietness and the countryside was so beautiful.
The hotel deluxe spa rooms we stayed in was also very comfortable. We also loved the Under the Dessert Moon dinner and must to do while there.
Staff great and really helpful, food and dinner show fun, lively , entertaining and involved everyone watching, a real crowd pleaser. Location to outdoors a fantastic spot, would recommend.
Location is amazing. They upgraded us to a lovely de luxe room which was very comfortable and clean. The staff were very friendly & helpful. The dinner was good in the restaurant.

Good evening dinner, and close to magnificient Kings Canyon Rim walk of 6.5 KLM. This must be one of the best walks I have ever experienced.
Reception staff very welcoming & helpful. Room 216 very comfortable & enjoyed the spa bath. Sunset viewing easy access from resort.

Facilities are normal, but acceptable. You know you don't have too many choice for the accommodation if you are planning to travel there. But we love the cottage! It's a quiet place and so close to the nature. It's quite enjoyable to sit outside of the room, feeling the breeze, breathing the fresh air, watching Kings Canyon far away in the sunset glow. We wish we could stay there longer. A good choice to stay!.
It is a beautiful area of the outback. The complimentary tea/coffee is a nice freebee. The communal shed with bbq, salad bar and entertainment was great.

The restaurant (we went there at dinner) was surprisingly good offering refined dishes (try the kangaroo and the veggie option as well). It's good there's a common swimming pool since it gets very hot in summer.

The room we stayed in had two major spider webs, one right by the bed on the windowsill, complete with spider, the other on shelf where you were supposed to put your bag or clothes, then underneath the shelf was a mouse trap, i was not impressed as I was supposed to sleep in this room.
The cooked breakfast was awful. It was burnt and for vegetarians unacceptable as it was cooked on the previous nights hotplate which hadn't been cleaned off from burnt meat. Just get a separate frying pan to cook veggie omelettes.

The room rate is a little high.
The smaller swimming pool was not clean and there were no clean towels. Also on the website there is an offer if you stay 1 night you stay another at half price. We stayed 3 nights and were charged the full price so we are not happy about this.
Bit pricey, but that is understandable given the tough, remote location and what must be eye-stinging costs of construction, maintenance, and operations generally.
The restaurant could offer some lower cost and easier lunch choices eg toasted sandwiches, rolls etc.

The price is high for the type of room but exceptions for accomodation in the middle of nowhere can be made. The price of the outback bbq meals were quite high for what we received.
The restaurants are not hotel quality - not in keeping of hotel... I would bring my own breakfast ...

Everything was very, very expensive. The bar staff weren't very friendly apart from the young Canadian lady. The rooms were very basic and overpriced.

The Resort seems out of step with what people expect with service.
It is quite expensive to stay here but you don't really have a choice if you want to see Kings Canyon. That said, the facilities were very good, the restaurant had excellent food (also expensive) and the staff quite friendly.
In the budget rooms the air condition cannot be setup for each room individually. The noise from the AC made us change rooms, thanks so much to the staff that this was possible late at night.
Kitchen is not good. cooking is not good choice there.
If you want to see kings canyon and stay overnight there is no choice of
other accommodation. Room was small with a very small window but what
could we expect in the middle of the red center.
Spa did not work. Kitchen ran out of butter! It is the only accommodation choice there.

The cell... ops, room was small, dark, with a barely acceptable window and with a malfunctioning common air conditioning system. Shared bathrooms are far from being spotless. Other outback locations provide far better services for the same or lower price.
we stayed at the backpackers room with shared bathroom. the room was clean however the whole facility isnt well maintained. there was no soap in the containers in the toilets, the kitchen lacks amenities. we were told to get a box at the gas station shop. the staff was impatient. we got a broken box with dirty utensils and not enough for cooking , no bowl for salad. the fridge in the room froze and all our vegetables got frozen. not a good experience for the money we paid.

A total rip-off. Our room was supposed to have a shared bath but all the toilets were out of order. Wandering around in the middle of the night looking for a place to relieve ourselves was a nightmare. The room itself felt like a prison cell and the mattress was old and very uncomfortable. We had a terrible night's sleep. Overall, the staff seemed indifferent. The restaurant was overpriced and the food was mediocre. Wish we had skipped our stop here on the way to Uluru.
