The friendly welcome when we arrived. The quality of the meals in the Restaurant. Although it is on the Highway, we did not hear any traffic. The Manager was very efficient controlling a group of teenagers, who were staying with their parents and who were running around at 10.00pm disturbing the guests. I loved the size of the room. the outlook from the windows was lovely and I didn't realise I was on a main road. The bed was extremely comfy. Linen was fresh and fresh.
all reviews » i liked the staff being so courteous as there was 7 of us including children, the staff were friendly not put out by all of us in one group as some hotels are. Rooms Excellent,all recently renovated. The Indian food menu was tops, towels replaced and room cleaned on 2 day stayover, even though not really required. The friendly ness of staff at front desk and also in dining room. A big improvement on when we last stayed, awhile ago now. Well done to new owners. Staff were very welcoming and helpful. Room was spotless and quite large. Railway station was only 5 minute walk down the road. Of the seven motels I have stayed at over the last two weeks that was the best bed ever. Excellent meal in the restaurant. Good location, close to everywhere we needed to go for a family reunion weekend. Quiet room, nice view, comfortable. Room size was great friendly staff priced within our reach - next trip will bring more family and make a trip to zoo. It was quite, the food excellent and the room service was prompt. Since my mother had problem of walking, the room was changed to the downstairs. But there is no elevator. It was clean and functional. friendly staff. Location. Nothing. The bed was too hard. The cleaning standard was average. The hand basin design allows water to fall between the sink and the wall, this was not cleaned daily and it is easy for mould to build up. The shower screen was not cleaned everyday and soap scum was built up. The sheets didn't cover the matteress. the bathrooms needed a bit of care. What I didn't like were the very thin, scratchy small towels. nothing. Stairs are a killer when your already exhausted. Others travelling with us had rooms without views and not so comfortable. Need to ask for room with view on top level. They had a function on at restaurant no parking left for motel guests plenty of signage to indicate parking for guests only - totally ignored finally parked our car inside motel at 11pm up until then was parked on footpath out the front of the motel. I couldn't get the TV sound to work. Car parking was a little tight although adequate. Tired décor and room facilities. There was a lot of street noise and the door rattled. Pool was a little run down. Heating in room not adequate. Condition of A/C - not working. It didn't have a microwave. nothing it was what i expected. Parking can sometimes become a bit of a hassle. Some repair required to shower screen and the piano hinge of the coffee cabinet. nothing. I noticed a bit of basic handyman/ repair work is needed. I could hear cars on the Pacific Hwy in the evening & during the night. We would have liked to have a menu for breakfast in the restaurant . There was a guest smoking on the balcony,dropping ash on to the entrance to the stairwell. The noise from the Pacific Highway. shower head could be a bit softer flow one,. Parking was awkward. Maintenance standards (toilet seat falling off, basin tap not turning off properly), meal (Indian food, good taste, tough meat), general lack of "ambience" - but I expected all that before I booked. Unable to draw curtains as off hooks on both sides. No biscuits supplied to have with cuppa on arrival. the pillows were like concrete and we could not sleep on them. no internet in room. I was told to pay by cash because the payment terminal did not work even though the receptionist was able to settle by manual. But I didn't have enough money. Then he said I could borrow the money by credit card. It is not only unfriendly proposal. I felt the lack of common sense. The furniture is very rundown and needs maintenance. Damaged and cracked in the bathroom. traffic noise. Staff Room. Being charged for mini bar which we didn't use.my wife left her special pillow at the hotel and when we asked to have it posted to us at our our expense the staff were totally uncooperative. Everything. Stayed for 5 nights and they could not get the room phone to work during the entire stay. The rooms were not very clean.
