What people say
I loved everyhting. From the check-in, which was fast and easy, to the
chocolates on the pillows of the very comfy bed, to the lovely fluffy
towels in the bathroom. I was delighted with the whole experience. The
hosts were fabulous, there when you needed them, but also very discreet,
giving us absolute run of the place.
Our intent was to do some walking and explore the surrounding areas, and Peter, the host, pointed out how close Echo point is to the venue. He advised of some lovely walks, incl. all reviews »
Lurline House was an absolute gem, or should I say that Peter and Suzanne were absolute gems. From the moment we arrived we felt like part of their extended family and were treated accordingly. We were upgraded to a cottage because we were staying for a week. Everything was spotless and the breakfasts, included in the tariff, were wonderful. Nothing was too much trouble and Peter and Suzanne had such a knowledge of the area, that we only had to ask a question and they had the answers. It i.
Peter and his lovely wife were incredibly welcoming and friendly during our stay at Lurline House.
We were in the Blue Mountains for a wedding, and coming back to the room made our trip. The room was delightful, the bed was one of the most comfortable beds we've experienced and the location is perfect for access to all of the tourist attractions in the mountains.
In the morning we were treated to wonderful cooked breakfast, made to order and delicious coffee.
We couldn't have asked for anyth.
The home is beautifully restored, lovely weeping cool climate trees, water features, birds. Breakfast is a 'work of art' as Peter busily cooks on his twin stove tops. Big choice a cereals , cooked food and porridge, yoghurts
The hop on hop off bus stops out the front and on its last two runs will drop you back at the House.
Comfortable, beautiful home,
obliging delightful help full staff and owners Suzanne & Peter,
Pins restaurant is 3 minute walk. It is wonderful and good $$ pricing. Th.
Peter & Suzanne (owners) have set a very high standard in running the place. Breadfasts are made to order on top of the self-service cold dishes and they personally serve their guest. We are very impressed with their hospitality and attention to details. We love the place, the room, the breadfast, the garden, the wild parrots which come to visit the garden all the time and the hop-on-hop-off bus stop just outside the place. Will stay there again if go to Katoomba.
Lurkine house was a fantastic place to stay during our Blue Mountain visit. Peter was an excellent host. He picked us up from the train station and back free of charge. He and his team cooks an excellent breakfast. The staff was incredibly friendly. The room we stayed in was very cute with everything you could ask for. We found Australia was very expensive for low quality accommodation, however, the Lurline House was very affordable and beyond our expectations.
When we visited the Blue Mountains there was torrential rain. We arrived back at Lurline House where it was warm and so welcoming. Hot bath, cup of tea and relax in a well appointed suite Breakfast was excellent and the helpfulness of the proprietor in suggesting walks, places to eat. But not only that, he offered to take our bags to the station so that we would not have to retrace our steps in the rain to collect our bags. Thank you.
We had a wonderful stay at Lurline House. It exceeded all our expectations. Our room was beautiful and full of many personal, thoughtful touches. It felt more like staying at a friends home than a B&B. The breakfast was superb and freshly made before our eyes. Our hosts Peter and Suzanne went over and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. We will definitely return again and will highly recommend Lurline House to our friends.
Peter and his team were very friendly and made it very easy for us to have a wonderful holiday without any hassles.
Lurline House has an old world charm and has been designed with utmost care to the nitty gritties, absolutely loved it. The environment was peaceful and elegant. Also enjoyed watching few movies from a good sized free dvd library that they maintain.
All in all a very memorable holiday!!!.
We love Lurline House and the 5 star service we received from the moment we arrived we were made welcome and offered refreshments. The room was adorable with a four poster bed and a private exit to the front varander and garden. The open lounge room/dinning room also gives it a homely feel. We had the best breakfast which caters to individual taste. We felt pampered and relaxed at the end of our stay.
A very welcoming guest house. Pleasant owners who try very hard to make your stay as pleasant as possible. Nothing seems too much trouble. Excellent breakfast every morning with lots to choose from. Beautiful room that fits with the character of the house. The property is in an excellent location and is within walking distance to Katoomba town centre, Echo point and the 3 sisters lookout.
Room kitted out with little touches to make it very comfortable and pleasurable to return to after a day walking in the countryside. Breakfast is very impressive - cold stuff to help yourself to and high quality hot food cooked to order at the cooker in the room. DVD library and free wifi nice touches, along with the daily chocolates! Very comfortable, elements of which are luxurious.
A real gem! From the unexpected welcome afternoon tea on arrival to the beautiful room, to the warm and friendly staff who waited on us for breakfast (cooked to order), to the supply of local information, to the location not far from Echo Point. This is by far the best we have stayed in during our two month's travelling around Australia - and low price for the quality and service!.
The hosts were friendly and helpful. Breakfasts were delightful.
Cockatoos rested on the limbs of a tree outside the window while we ate
our pancakes. The rooms were well appointed and comfortable. We were
able to cover large parts of the Blue Mountains while using Lurline
House as our base. Compared to our other lodgings in Australia, this was
an excellent price performer.
Enjoyed this cozy B&B very much. The breakfast cooked specially for us in the morning was extremely scrumptious - had toast, bacon, egg, etc. Also we got upgraded to a spa room, so we enjoyed a very nice Jacuzzi session on a very cold and wet day. All in all, very pleasant visit to Katoomba and will definitely be back again for more hikes and canyoning activities.
Peter & Suzanne are exceptional hosts. They made us feel completely at home and nothing was too much trouble. Their Guest House was beautiful, comfortable, very reasonable (we would have happily paid much more) and well above expectation, having stayed in many others over the years. Thank you so much for making our stay so special. We will definitely be back :).
Everything was wonderful. The room, the house and the living room were so beautiful and decorated with love. The owners are helpful with planning your trips, friendly and very professional. The location is perfect, only 10 mins away from the main attractions. The breakfast in the morning was fantastic and was cooked by the owner. We loved the breakfast!.
The owners and staff are very welcoming and make you feel at home. The room was very comfortable and charming. The location is great - walking distance to main street and also to Echo Point. Sitting area was warm and cosy - a great place to relax away from the winter chill. The breakfast, including the service, was superb. Recommend to anyone.
From the moment we arrived we were made to feel as though we were the only guests, even with all seven rooms full. Suzanne and Peter are wonderful hosts and couldn't have been more obliging. Old world ambience and charm with perfect accommodation and breakfast. Loved the chocolates on the pillow. Have already highly recommended to friends.
We both just loved our stay here. Staff were very friendly an approachable. Personable. We were offered a cup of tea/coffee and cake when we arrived that was included in the quoted price.
Beautifully decorated & furnished. Very comfortable. We will definitely go back.
Breakfast was just lovely. Cooked to request.
A very comfortable stay, a pleasant warm ambience, none of the stale smallness and restrictions sometimes experienced in smaller hotels, excellent breakfast, the room was warm and cosy. Free wireless a great bonus for a small place. 10 minutes walk from a great elevated view of the Blue Mountains. Very very nice.
Absolutely everything - Peter and Suzanne were marvellous hosts for our 5 day stay - probably the best B&B adventure we have had anywhere in the world. Full marks for the food, ambience, and comfort together with many little touches that made it an exceptionally enjoyable home-away-from-home experience.
Everything was great from pickup at the train station to drop off, the host Peter even made the effort to pass us our luggage (at Leura station 1 stop before) after our final day walk (don't miss the National Pass at Wentworth Falls!), so we could catch earlier train to Sydney. A memorable 3-day there!.
My mum and I loved this place. The bedroom with a comfy 4 poster bed was beautiful. The reading room in the room was lovely with a kettle, tea and coffee. The bathroom was a nice size. The breakfast area was great with an amazing breakfast selection cooked and served to you by the hosts.
Arrived early but the room was ready, met by the owner who couldn't have been any more helpful. The room was spacious and attention to detail was there to be seen. I would have no problem in recommending this guest house to anyone who expects those extra little bits that make it special.
Staff were wonderful and the accomodation was great.
Cooked breakfast in the morning was delicious and plentiful.
We've stayed here before and will absolutely stay here again.
Always a highlight when we holiday in Sydney to have a trip to the Blue Mountains and stay at Lurline House.
Fantastic owners who were keen to ensure our stay was pleasant and comfortable. Much helpful advice on what to do in Katoomba. Delicious breakfast each morning. Rooms warm, comfortable and decorated with great attention to detail. Lovely stay, thank you very much Peter and Suzanne.
Beautiful B&B with helpful and friendly owners. Great location for visiting Echo Point with restaurants nearby.
Our room was small but beautifully furnished with a 4 poster bed. Sumptuous breakfast cooked to order and free wifi.
Great value for money and highly recomended.
Loved the location. Loved the historic feel to the B&B. The food was some of the best that we had on the trip. The gardens and the birds were fantastic! The best and most helpful staff you could possibly have. Sites, restaurants, and shops were in walking distance.
The staff and the property are excellent in all aspects ,we thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The room is small ,although that wasn't a problem to us as the ambience of the house more than compensated for this aspect.Would recommend it to friends without any doubts at all.
Friendly welcome and general atmosphere. Well appointed rooms with lots of touches of quality and attention to detail.
Nothing seemed to be too much trouble for the owners.
Easy access to very good restaurants, the railway station and wonderful forest walks.
Loved everything about this charming guest house. Beautiful decor, warm and welcoming people running it, and the breakfast was amazing. I have stayed in a few places in Katoomba and in my view Lurline House is the best by a country mile. I will be back!.
Everything. The owner and staff were friendly, attentive, and service-oriented. The room was lovely, and the breakfast was first-rate. The beautifully decorated lounge with relaxing, quiet background music was delightful for reading and chatting.
The service and attention to detail is second to none. The accommodation is outstanding, Peter and Susanne are perfect hosts, friendly, helpful and obliging. The breakfasts are amazing . I would not hesitate to recommend this place to anyone.
Welcoming and friendly, the place is clean and comfortable. The owners go out of their way to provide the guests with a delicious and ample breakfast and recommend where to dine and what to do . The rooms are heated and beds comfortable.
As I turned up there on the wrong
day Peter went out of his way to
find us alternate accomodation for
the one night before we stayed with them. Wish we could have
had the two nights at Lurline it was just gorgeous. Best breakfast.
The house and accommodations are beautiful, comfortable and quaint. Within walking distance to the main part of town, Three Sisters and Scenic World - excellent location. Breakfast was outstanding. We truly enjoyed everything!.
Cosy, clean and neat room. Perfect location. I would like to say thousand thanks to Peter whose cook a wonderful & superb breakfast for us and Suzanne whose sent us to the train station. I wish to visit Lurline House again.
There were many things to like - friendly, helpful and accommodating host, very clean and comfortable accommodation, central location, top class breakfast. Overall an extremely relaxing place to stay. Excellent value for money.
The staff was very attentive, efficient and friendly. They were ready with tourism suggestions. The reception and dining area have a welcoming atmosphere and the individual rooms were clean and full of old world charm.
My stay at Lurline House was so enjoyable. Very comfortable, warm and clean. Great hospitality and the breakfasts were the best. I would certainly recommend my friends to stay here and I hope to return in the future.
As well as the above, excellent in all areas, we found the proprieter very obliging and helpful, in advising us of places to go to, and where to get petrol etc. We really enjoyed our stay and would like to return.
It was a great and relaxing experience. Special thanks to our host, Peter, who picked us up from the train station and also dropped us there on the last day. The breakfast was fresh and delicious. Good location.

Good location, close to all the scenic places and away from the hustle-bustle of the main katoomba street.

much trouble for Peter and Suzanne.Would love to do a return visit.
Comfortable and hospitable, in a great location. Our hosts were helpful and friendly. The lounge area with local books and guides was appreciated. And yes, the breakfast was great!.
The owners were a lovely couple very friendly and accomodating!
The room was a cute cottage style room with everything you needed and they even left you little chocolates sweets!.
We were impressed with the welcoming and helpful attitude throughout our stay and the breakfast was as good as any we have enjoyed over many years of travels. Very good value.
Nothing. I could not fault a thing.
Nothing.
location. the house is a 1 to - 1.5 k walk from the town centre up quite a steep road walk. Katoomba feels safe in the dark..it is the incline going up. No problem walking down.
None.
We loved everything.
We couldn't stay longer!.
Nothing. One suggestion would be to consider having a small fridge in the room.
Quite far from town centre and train station - wouldn't be too bad if on the flat, but it's quite a steep hill to get into town for lunch/dinner. However, this makes it closer to the gorgeous trails and lookouts around Echo Point.
Nada.
Absolutely nothing !!.
Nothing not to like.
As a fan of watching TV from bed in hotels the TV needs to be wall-mounted to be properly visible. Every hotel room needs a small fridge, if I know in advance that there isn't one I don't stay there.
Nothing comes to mind.
nothing its amazing!!.
Nothing.
Nothing.
We liked everything!.
Nothing was negative as it was a great experience and we will repeat it at a later date ,although for a little longer .
Nothing!.
Nothing.
Not applicable. Everything was excellent.
Nothing.
Nothing to mention.
The coffee was somewhat bitter in taste rather like Starbuck's coffee but this was the only very slightly negative aspect in an otherwise copious and tasty breakfast served fast and very smoothly by the excellent staff.
There was nothing to not to like.
Nothing.
You can hear what people are saying in the next room
Rooms are small
Asked for a spa bath room but I guess they were already full.
Nothing not to like.
