It was easy to find. Directions given on website were good. We stayed in a 1 bed apt. It wasn't fancy but very comfortable. You were able to cater for yourself or go to their restaurant. We bought our supplies in a town on the way. We didn't have a 4 wheel drive car but most of the dirt roads were quite drivable.We did a half day 4 wheel drive tour. The guide was very informative and clearly loved his job. The scenery and lookouts were lovely. The drive along the dried creek beds was interestin.
all reviews » The unit was well appointed and we had both heating and cooling. We used both on our stay. The surrounding area was beautifull with many good walking trails. It was also close to other points of interest in the area. The location. the staff especially the guides. The tours on offer which gave excellent insight into the Southern Flinders Ranges. The staff's love and enthusiasm for their area. the comfort of the facilities. Cabins were very comfortable, had everything we needed. The Woolshed restaurant was a highlight. Great base to explore the Flinders Ranges and surrounding District either by road or air. Pleasantly surprised by how comfortable the cabin was for our 5 night stay. Excellent walks, loved ending the day with a nice meal and drink at the Woolshed Restaurant. June in reception was extremely helpful. Restaurant meal was great as were takeaway pizzas the following night. We expected the bedroom to be separate from the living area but it was all one space. We think it would be more accurate to describe this as a studio room with kitchen and separate en suite. the fact our stay was too short. The weather which prevented us from taking a flight over Wilpena Pound (not really - it was great to see the delight locals had over the rain). The bush flies. no teabags. noisey aircon smell from bathroom in the afternoons,poor signs on walks around the property, pool too far away from cabins, woolshed too expensive. We booked a one-bedroom apartment but when we arrived they had us in a 2 bedroom apartment which had a common wall with the room next door. It was possible to hear conversations, TV and chairs scraping. Restaurant was not good value. Our lamb shanks were tasteless.
