What people say
you have so many things to do right from the lodge. the wonderful women at the front desk. i forget her name but she was very helpful. i was proud to put another pin on her map. she offered me a map for free but i paid for it anyway. when people treat you that good you must reward them anyway that you can. the resturant that is like a 3 minute walk away suggested by the lady at the front desk. kookaburra i think the name of it was amazing. first time i had kangaroo and i loved it. the back porc. all reviews »
Quiet spacious rooms with a mesmerizing view. Wildlife is just next door: one can spot kangaroos and cockatoos sitting on a terrasse. Still all modern facilities are available, wifi in the room worked very well. The only shop in the town is 5 min away by foot. Two very nice eating places in the neibourhood: The Kookaburra and The Black Panther.
Extremely helpful and polite hotel owners. Gave us wonderful insider tips for off-the-beaten-path walks in the mountains.
We loved the kangaroos! Each evening they came bounding past our patio, stopped to see what we were and bounced on. It was wonderful and there were soooo many of them! The flocks of cockatoos were also a real treat and since we were having cheese and crackers with our wine, they were glad to sample the crackers-right from our hands. What could be better!.
We can highly recommend this comfortable accommodation which has superb views together with morning & evening visits from the sulphur crested cockatoos on the patio, from which you can also observe kangaroos in the field. Very friendly & helpful owners who could not do enough to help us enjoy our stay.
The back door opens up to a patio with its own private view of the field and mountains. Wild kangaroos can be seen in the evening, and the milky way can be seen on a clear night.
It is walking distance from town centre (groceries and cafes/ restaurants). The Black Panther Cafe/ Restaurant is highly recommended.
First time staying in a motor lodge and if all motor lodges are this amazing, no need to look any further!
Really great stay at Kookaburra as we felt really welcomed and the staff was very helpful with recommendations for dinner/walks.
Parrots and kangaroos at the doorstep come as a nice bonus!.
Excellent stay all round. Mentioned on arrival that we would need a microwave and it was installed in our room within 5 minutes. The room heater was switched on prior to our arrival which made a lovely welcome. The birds around the site were wonderful. The owner is exemplary in his service.
We were made to feel very welcome and were given lots of information about the area to make the most of our short stay. The rooms were clean and comfortable and very quiet. There was lots of wildlife to be seen in the vicinity and the access to local walks was good.

Beautiful area, stayed 1 night. Did our own BBQ in an area set aside at the motel, all cutlery and china supplied, brilliant. Ask for a room facing the back and watch the Kangaroos at dusk.

They debited credit card (provided when booking) for the account before we went to office on departure morning without asking; as 3 rooms family, grandparents, parents, and teenagers, we would have preferred to pay differently or at least be asked first.
Nothing.
That I didn't have more time to stay.
That we had to leave.
Leaving.
No complaints.
All aok.
The man on the motorbike who made all the noise one morning.
Everything was good.
There were no Kookaburras!.
Blankets rather than quilts.
The rooms are quite basic but I thought it was fine for a motel.

problems on first day with facilities, rapidly corrected.
Picture of the possum in the room was a bit scary. Other than that stay was good and comfortable.
