We have always stayed here and always have Dinner at Albertos which has one of the highest food standards of a laa carte restaurants in Australia. This is the first time we stayed undergroundin the Summer (44 degrees) and the room was too hot to sleep ( higher than the advertised 23-25 degrees. A top hotel with great staff and very good food. Thank you. Opal mine Tour from the motel was the best value. This gave me the value for what a miner does with his Gems. Accommodation comfortable and constant atmosphere underground. Restaurant served very nice meals and good service. Bookings.com had a good deal for us.

Underground room was an experience. Novelty of rooms undergraound. The room was big and clean. Location and museum display. I only like to complain to make a difference. We enjoyed our stay. About the only thing I feel could be improved on were the bathroom towels to small. During our stay,we went of a tour of a dugout and had to go deep underground to get to the living quarters.I was expecting this with you.This is not a criticism,however,we thought the room would be deeper. The coffee shop made great coffee but shut down too early in the day and the small bar operated. Why not combine the two as one or operate both at the same time. Dust falling from walls and ceiling making it a bit dusty to sleep in the bed and gets the luggage a bit dirty. No free wifi. Minor inconveniences which were rectified. Bar shut early. A bit noisey form other rooms. The noise of the staff in the morning talking and cleaning rooms outside the door. our emergency lamp didn't work so thankfully no power outages. Getting dust on clothes from unsealed walls. Nothing. Water in shower was only just warm but that's all. I think we were disappointed that 'breakfast' was not included in the price of the accommodation - as the cost of the breakfast at the Café was very expensive ie $15.00 for a continental breakfast is far too expensive. Tired rooms in need of an update Loud music in restaurant and cafe. peigeons outside of the room sitting on the air con. Room, in particular the bathroom needed attention, plastic sealer peeling off ceiling, shabby worn out tiles on the floor. Getting very tired. For the style of motel it was only average and stAff medioccar in their service. We were mislead by saying the room was undergrown. Very expensive hotel for being in a rock and not undergrown as advertised. lack of interest from staff, grossly overpriced compared to comparable accommodation Poorly maintained bed was gritty as walls needed resealing.
