Close to everything. The best pool ever with sandy lagoon and sitting tables around. Very refreshing after the long hot day... Breakfast was good, in addition to traditional choices (cold and hot) included some unconventional dishes tailored to Asian tourists. Staff was helpful and efficient. Having tour desk that was open until late was very helpful as we arrived in the evening, but were able to book the next day trip to the reef on site.

Good location, friendly staff, very helpful and we were upgraded to a Superior Pool View Room on arrival. Gym facilities are good and pool is perfect to relax by! Buffet breakfast had a wide variety of food also. Central in town, close walking distance to shops, restaurants, bars and the esplanade. The pool with swim up bar was excellent and location was great. The BBQ area was great and the proposed changes would make it even better. We were delighted that our request for a ground level room was accommodated. The room was clean and tidy and the view was great, especially when the bats took flight in the evening. The pool was really nice too. The hotel was in a great spot for easy access to Cairns central. Staff were eager to help & assist in any way, very friendly and approachable ;-)). Marie & I thoroughly enjoyed our stay with you and will be back. Friendly, helpful staff, clean comfortable rooms, generous breakfasts with a large variety of foods offered. A large clean pool. Mattress was too soft for me. But apparently most of other hotels we stayed during our trip to Australia have the same problem, may be they just have different standards?. nothing. Had a leaking air-conditioner from room above which was reported but never fixed over 4 days. This meant we were not able to make use of the outside table and chairs. Unfortunately the internet crashed during our stay and wasn't fixed until after we had used and paid for outside internet facilities. Nothing. The rooms were a little tired and required a refurbishment. Bathroom was a bit dated. Bats can be quiet noisy if you are in a room beside the trees. internet area not operating expense of in room internet. Surly staff. Broken bin in the bathroom - really broken. The breakfast is not as good as it used to be. The coffee was a disappointment. Tv didn't work and we were in bed and it was late, so didn't want staff in room because we thought it was probably remote batteries. Foreign tourists who were pushy and arrogant. wifi only in lobby. the pool was a little dirty however there was a man out cleaning it. The coffee at breakfast was from a machine. The dinner menu was very limited and the bats were noisy. Tried to charge a $7.50 per night car parking fee upon check in. breakfast menu should be rotated so we dont have the same options every day. The hard pillows & smelly fruit bats. The standard room. After upgrade to superior the room was fine. the bats. smell from the fruit bats which are living in the tree's next to the hotel. No airport shuttle. no spa, listening to bats all day, not good , hard to sleep. we did not like having to share the foot path with the stench and excretment from the flying foxes. I notice when I book through you that I am always given rooms a long way from the elevators right down the end of corridors. Also I am given second grade rooms. 1. The staircase and corridor are dirty and nobody cleans it 2. There are lots of bats living on the trees next to the hotel. This could be quite annoying 3. The swimming pool is a little bit dirty. Lots of fallen leaves... Rooms were old and moist with very thin walls (we heard normal talking). WiFi is very expensive. There is free WiFi in at the reception but it didn't work, at all. The room itself was quite small and felt cramped,. Cigarette butts all over front entrance roof and balconies roof the same and hotels outside walls needs a good cleaning as paint work covered in black mold. The fact that when I booked with book.com it was for 3 adults for which I had confirmed with Novotel 3 times but when arrived was charged another $86 for 3rd person 1st holiday in 8 yrs to get ripped off disappointing wont book thru book.com or stay there again & all because I couldn't remember the 3 people's names that I confirmed booking with. poor quality lighting in lobby and port cochere. corridors in poor condition. room needed repainting. The bats definitely need to be culled scarey experience at dusk. For a high level establishment the staff were not up to standard. Request for an early check in with 2 prior phone calls just to advise of this and when we arrived at 10am they rolled their eyes at us. Not good customer service skills at all. I have worked at a high end hotel for many years would wide and customer service was our main focus to help holidayer's have a wonderful experience. From start to finish reception staff not helpful at all. staff at reception unhelpful. The room was too small for me and my family. Room was not cleaned on the first day. Only done at 7:30pm after complaining. We were charge for beverage not taken from the mini bar. Stock was not refilled x 2 times (soaps and shampoos). No bath towels was left x 3 times. Coffee cups washed and left there, not put away. Pillows left on chair. Bed not finished made. We were very disappointed with the above, but did not want to keep on complaining. After a long day at sea coming back to a half serviced room was a downside to our holiday. I had to pay extra for parking The bed was really uncomfortable The rooms were very sparse The breakfast buffet was bland and no variety. Breakfast buffet was slow, lengthy delay to be seated, food ran out several times, Pool needed cleaning and our room shower was badly leaking. We have also stayed there many time before and still only had a room facing street / car entry- not pool. We were put in a room between several family rooms, that were very noisy,in fact children were screaming,. Breakfast quality & free wifi access. Noisy. Rooms not sound proof. You could clearly hear conversations in adjoining rooms. Not good value for money. Poor buffet breakfast. Only one slow toaster for a large number of guests. Luke warm water to make tea. Decor tired and dated.
