Spacious room with an amazingly comfortable bed, perfect to get a good nights rest as a stopover between Alice Springs and Coober Pedy to see Uluru. We were upgraded to the standard room at no charge on arrival as it was off-peak, which was a great gesture after a long drive. Very friendly staff and an amazing resort-like hotel, with everything you could need/want close by or only 5mins from the shopping district. We were also given 2 keys which allowed us to leave the a/c on whilst we ducked o.
all reviews » Basic, clean and comfortable room. Including a refrigirator. Far from the bar area and therefore quiet. The guest kitchen is well equipt, has all the needed ameneties, clean and specious. All common areas are great. A recommended place. The location, organisation and facilities of the whole complex are first class. All of the accomodation here is expensive and Outback Pioneer is no exception. The area is fantastic and really worth visiting. Rooms are serviced daily, plus we had a bath with nice toiletries. The supermarket was very good at the resort. There are lookouts at which you can view Uluru without having to drive there. Enjoyed bbq dinners, breakfast buffet. Staff excellent-left earring stones behind, they found, sent me email and are sending to my next location. Muchly appreciated. Close to Ayers Rock. The room was great, small but cosy. The location had a real central australian feel to it. The atmosphere was casual and reasonably laid- back. The family entertainment was good. The hotel room was simple but nice. The toiletries and refreshments were recharged daily. They room was spacious. The hotel bar and surroundings had a cheerful athmosphere. Room was clean. Bathroom in very good condition. Towels were fresh. Well maintained. It was expensive but guess it is to be expected as it is in the middle of nowhere. Just love the relaxed friendly atmosphere, exactly right for that sort of experience. Had everything we needed, good position in the resort and for day trips. Has its own viewing area of Uluru, which we didn't discover till the last day. The fact it was located to use as a base to visit all the sights of the "Red Center" of Australia. The staff was friendly and tried hard to please. Supermarket within easy walking distance. the location is good in easy reach of Ayers rock and the Olgas The cabin type accomodation is good and in keeping with the location. Location. (1) The big plus is it is close to the National Park. At Question 5 I would certainly recommend the Uluru National Park: I am afraid the Resort did not measure up. I found it did not fit the landscape. Further, it should drop the name of Ayers Rock Resort. We got an upgrade, which was great. People were friendly and they have a pretty well-equipped bar and snack bar. The food at the restaurant was great-. Food was good and staff attentive. Had a problem re booking to sort out at reception, The staff were courteous and helpful,. It was ok but very expensive for what we got. One place i would not return to meaning uluru. Very over priced. Yulara knows its value among tourists. The outback Pioneer Hotel is probably the best choice in this area. It was central and close to all facilities. It was a mid proced hotel in the area. Clean comfortable, accommodation.Good site near most necessary facilities. Comfortable room, bed and bathroom and good location to Ayres Rock. Well located next to Uluru-Kata Tjuta park. Good place for the location. Nice grounds. Clean and confortable rooms, nice setting. Location, swimming pool, room size. Limited car parking spaces outside the rooms, that weren't numbered so if you left it was a lucky dip if you were to return to it later or forced to park in the large carpark out the front of the main lobby building. We were lucky though as it wasn't that busy so only had a short 80m walk, just frustrating when you have a car full of stuff on a long trip and having to cart baggage between car and room. The price. Accommodation is very costly in this area. Some of the staff at the bars were a bit snooty. We had a bbcue at the bar where you buy your meat and cook it yourself and includes free salad and veg bar plus a dessert, it is a lot of fun but the meat is extremely dear and I think would put some people off, especially families. Dining was expensive for families and the restaurant wasn't available at the time of our stay. The bbq facilities took a long time to get served. The hotel is no longer "fresh", looks a bit worn out. The food was not so good. But if and when I go back to Ayers Rock, I will stay there again for sure: it's the best cost-benefit in Ayers Rock. Express bus to Uluru was very expensive if you wanted to do it yourself and not pay for a trip. With hindsight we would hire a car from the airport as it's only a 10 minute drive. The prices for food seemed high to someone from the usa. The sidewalks need a good high pressure hot water cleaning. The accommodation was very overpriced compared to other accommodation of a higher standard in other outback towns like Coober Pedy. I guesss you have to expect to pay more in isolated locations. the only choice for breakfast in the hotel complex itself is the main restaurant which offered continental at $25 and full breakfast at $32. Both of these are expensive. we took the full breakfast and considered this very poor value as the buffet items like scrambled egg had been sitting there for a long time it seemed. Being woken up at 8.30 am for a change of towels! Your staff were excellent on this subject and gave us a free movie from the previous night. Would like a bigger fridge to put our water in. the flies!! A bit dark getting round at night and for early sunrise trips. Breakfast doesn't start early enough. Wildlife almost non-existent. Meat at BBQ was very tough. Maybe a bit expensive. Price of hotel.Twice as much as higher standard hotel in Alice Springs. that I was only given a choice to stay in the lodge,whilst comfortable enough it would not be my preference to stay as a single business customer No restaurant for dinner. Bunk beds .No safety rail on top bunk. I was afraid I would fall out. Therefore did not sleep well. too expensive by far. Restaurants open after 18:30. Days start at 06:30 so you want to be able to have a proper dinner earlier than that. All Hotels in Ayers Rock resort are Accor Hotels and the pricing shows this monopoly position. Price is a bit steep, but that's what you get when there is a monopoly in place. You can always camp or do the hostel, if you want it cheaper... A toaster in the room would have been a plus. More variety in the "breakfast box". I availed of the boxes during times I had to join the tours early. On my last day, I had a proper brekky at the Bough House, I felt sad I missed out on the good food. I hope there will be more to offer in the breakfast box. Was cloudy so did not see either a sunrise or a sunset. Very disappointed. The expensive food and wifi. as with all in this area expensive. price. (1) Totally inadequate number of parking spaces. (2) The automatic lighting system in the rooms is bad: the room is in darkness when the key is removed - there should be one light not connected to the key. (3) The very small number of Aboriginal staff both at the Hotel and at the Town Centre. Room was pretty basic, and you pay a lot simply because you're at Yulara. But nothing was wrong with the hotel or the room -. Had to park car a long way from room. Paths need to be swept. Slap happy presentation. The area is described as a resort. It isn't in that league. All prices are about normal - just doubled. Although we had filled in the form and paid for a twin room, when we arrived at the hotel they told us that was only a request form and they only had lower standard of romm with bunk beds only available. Would have been nice to have a kettle that works and was clean. Most food and other necessities very expensive. There were no car parks available close to our room and we did not like competing for a park especially when it was raining! No Austar TV, would like it to be able for the cost of the room. No proper restaurant. There is a bbq where you cook yourself your meat, it is fun but will be nice after a long trip to have a nice restaurant with menu. The 2% credit card surcharge is annoying. We also had to request three times that our room be serviced and serving wasn't completed until after 17:00 on our first day. Food second rate and over priced. Quality, range and cost of food.
