It was a last minute decision for my 50th birthday. We received a room upgrade and a bottle of bubbly when we told them our occasion - thank you Hilton Adelaide you really made my day. Liked the rate we paid through letsbookhotel.com The bed was huge and comfy and the view was great. Cocktail bar was lovely, civilised and relaxing around 7pm. Nice live music in the lounge bar later in the evening.
all reviews » I liked the location of the hotel and also the size of the rooms. The Concierge was very helpful in booking day trips and the laundry I sent in was promptly returned. I also found the check in process to be very efficient and JP provided a good first impression of the hotel. Location is very central. Tram is right at the front. The Lounge was had a very relaxing atmosphere. Good music, food, pre-going out drinks, etc. Though I think it was a bit too dark. Service at the lounge was good as well. the room had a really good view and the bed was really comfortable. The foyer for sitting and having drinks and catching up with friends was really good. the staff very friendly and helpful. Really enjoyed our stay at the Hilton the rooms are good the facilities good and the buffet breakfast the best quality I have ever found in any hotel around the world. Loved everything! From exceptional customer service every time I spoke to a staff member, to a delicious breakfast in lovely decor, it was all perfect. Outlook, near heritage buildings,close to Victoria Square and tram and Market. Also comfort and excellent staff, all friendly, helpful, knowledgeable. We were upgraded to the Executive King Room which was excellent. Room was very nice, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was included in our package. closeness to event convenience to valet parking neat, clean and tidy being on 10th floor gave a good view over Vic Sq (although it was all dug up). A comfortable and relaxing stay, excellent breakfast a la carte. Ideal location for shopping or going out. Staff unobtrusively efficient. Went back to the cocktail bar after dinner and it was too loud and younger crowd at that time, not a problem in itself as we moved to another bar in the hotel but the cocktails were about $5 dearer so just had wine. I found the bed to be very uncomfortable. I had a meal in the brasserie and was not impressed with the meal (I was sitting near the kitchen and saw my meat being emptied from a plastic bag ontot he plate) and, especially with the service. I felt I got poor value for money here. Disappointed at the pool. It was cold - when it was supposed to be heated. I think they should adjust the settings when it is generally cold outside. The pool was swarming with insects as well. I don't think they pay too much attention to it. They need to do some upgrading - decor, facilities, etc. Good think i was only staying here one night to have somewhere to sleep in the city and wasn't really into a lot of the amenities. the hotel was lovely but the bathroom needs work. The shower head was amazing but with no door on the shower the water goes all over the floor and behind the toilet. No dressing room area by pool. Breakfast buffet had a good selection but the queue was very long around the hot meals. Some dishes took a while to be replenished. buffet breakfast wasn't as good as last time (seem to be lacking staff) two lifts weren't operating so it took a long time to get downstairs parking was reasonably costly for time it was required (well less than 24 hours). minor maintenance issues like one ceiling light not working. TV remote had flat battery - exchanged within minutes after calling reception. we were a bit dissapointed that the were lamps with blown globes. Bathroom flooded because shower recess poorly designed. Towels a little too thin. no dislikes. pillows. There was some trouble with the lifts, we waited on 6th floor for 30mintues on serval occasions. nothing. Nothing. Nothing. Can't think of anything. The gym facility needs better air conditioning and machines need to be maintained. some of the furniture in the bar area is worn and stained. Being charged $34.00 per day to park our car - was not told of this in advance. Being charged a surcharge to pay by credit card - again no warning of this. Had to smoke out front after 10pm. No complaints. Breakfast was OK. Coffee took a really long time to get to us, then was cold and when we re-ordered it didn't arrive and we ended up leaving. My eggs benedict was a very small sizing and wasn't very appetising. The fridge needs an upgrade. I did not like the doona. Doonas allow only one choice of cover. My partner likes heavy cover, I like light. OUr only choice was the Hilton Doona. Please offer more choices of bed cover. The safe was unable to be used as it was low on battery The desk lamp was blown. The bed was a fold out bed, I didnt feel safe. The bed! It sloped on one side - sorry!. We were extremely dissatisfied with having to pay $34 a day for parking at the Hilton. We stayed for 7 days and our bill reached $238! Guests should be given free parking, particularly those staying for more than 2 nights. We stayed at Cairns Hilton and even though they had a cover charge for parking, they waived the fee as we stayed for a week. Breakfast buffet was reasonable however, the Hilton Cairns offered a far wider range of foods. No Buffet Breakfast as there was a "Private Function" on that Sat. The attitude of the young Lady at the breakfast reception area. all of standard expected. Valet parking takes to long. The pillows. I cant handle hotels that give you a dooner on the bed in the middle of summer. Does management expect snow?. No extraction fan in bathroom. The bathroom door/wardrobe doors meant you had to do a bit "of a dance" at times. A light over the full length mirror would be helpful. Food was very expensive.
