The owners were both extremely helpful and friendly.
We were contacted by phone a week before arrival to confirm that our requests for our Ruby Anniversary weekend had been met. Our room was just as the owner described and had views to die for.

Warm welcome from the staff and landlord. Bar staff, waiters seemed part of a warm team enjoying their jobs. The pub/hotel is pet friendly. We had our medium sized, well-behaved dog in the bedroom, and in breakfast with us one day. The waiter helped with a bowl for leftovers/water. The hotel is in a great location overlooking the tidal Kent estuary. Good walks nearby, Leighton Moss RSPB reserve, regular train service to local stations north and south.

cooked us a fabulous English breakfast the following morning. He even
carried our bags and gave the kids lollies when we left. He went the
extra mile which makes a big difference when you are travelling with
kids. Would stay there again and happy to recommend to others. -

Claire and steve where really lovely and very helpful... nothing was to much trouble...the room was lovely and very clean.. bed very very comfy... steves breakfast in the morning was gorgeous and set us up for a days mountain biking. ... Great service, staff very welcoming and great location and views. Will certainly return when next we next visit the lakes. The breakfast service was the best we have had from any hotel/guest house. The little touches and attention to detail are very noticeable and make a real difference. Thank you to all the staff for making our stay so enjoyable.

We stayed in one of the cottages and it was beautiful. So clean and well maintained, just lovely. We arrived extremely late (00.10) but were greeted with a warm, friendly smile by Steve who was so attentive. establishment of this standard that serves good honest pub grub at
reasonable prices - just what you need when climbing the hills. Good to
see a hotel supporting local real ale brewers not not just the usual
'fizz' that most hotels offer. Food and drink prices all very
reasonable, nice not to have a shock when paying the food and bar bill.

The rooms were of good size, and the breakfast was of a generous size. We thought we had booked for 3 nights, but turned out to be 2. Barbara was most helpful, and managed to stay the 3. Very friendly. 10 out of 10. -
It was really quiet despite being 2 mins from town . Very clean . Breakfasts were amazing and just overall feeling of relaxation .

After reading some negative reviews about this hotel I was really not expecting much at all. How wrong I was. My two children (age 4 & 8) and I stayed for 1 night. the staff members were awesome
they looked after our requirements of the menu as my wife didn't want what was on the sweet menu, they said no problem. she asked what do you like and they made it happen. wow impressive
the chief was out standing in the presentation and taste of all the food we had.
we really recommend the food top class at reasonable price.
