  I took my girlfriend away for the weekend, and we had an amazing time. The staff go out of their way to make you feel welcome and the facilities are very modern and clean. The grounds are well kept and I proposed to my girlfriend in the rock garden, which looks like something straight out of a fantasy film. Wernher restaurant is quite exceptional. Golf course massive. Clay pigeon shooting top. Highly recommended as a historic and luxurious weekend. However I think you need to be in the main building - you wouldn't want to be in the modern block - no matter how sympathetically designed. That would eliminate the whole point of the experience.

  I have stayed there numerous times before and each time I have found the staff very friendly and accomadating. Two of my children have held the complete wedding ceremony there. Both magical experiences. I have no hesitation in recomending this Hotel to others. - Lovely room overlooking the river, comfy bed, really lovely stay.
