Exceptionally friendly & helpful staff, clean room & comfortable bed. Location perfect for walking into town and on the walls. Good continental breakfast included.

Couldn't ask for a better location, literally 2mins into the centre of Chester!!.
Location - it's just outside the city walls, VERY easy to find, and ample parking. It's a budget stay, but value for money at that.

Although basic and hardly a place we'd normally recommend, we enjoyed our stay - having perhaps the best room?
The location is excellent, although on a busy crossroad junction.

Light in shared bathroom not working. Some noise from late night revellers in street below. Mattresses though comfy had very noisy springs! Décor in triple room needs attention, pics avoid tired décor.
Nothing!.
Stayed over a weekend and it was quite noisey in early hours as party goers were heading home. Take ear plugs and all will be ok !!.
Accommodation very basic not quite what was expected would pay more for better room. Street very noisy at night needs at least double glazing. Would have loved english breakfast.
Nothing!!.
The maid had not changed the tea cups, so had to wash them at 2 in the morning to have a drink.
no chairs in (twin) bedroom for putting clothes on at night. No bedside table eg for switching off light from bed.No drawers that i can recall.
Things had to be put on the carpet for the night.
Not enough hooks. Only a wardrobe for hanging anything.
breakfeast to early and you had to be out by 10.30 the windows are not double glazed so if you are a light sleeper take some ear plugs.
Noise from street outside till quite late - absolutely not the fault of the Hotel and all Hotels in Chester would be exactly the same, but owner of building should definitely double-glaze.
Breakfast was basic.
Bathroom is outside.
Hotel rooms were very cold, no heating was on. Refreshments were provided however there was only tea, no coffee.
Bit noisy at times and could do with a pedestal fan in the summer as room was a bit too warm even fro us Aussies!.
waiting to get into my room late at night as the night porter wasnt on the premises. tired decoration.
noisy on a night from street below with traffic might have been where room was.
Nothing!.
The only thing which i didn't like was the room was freezing cold.
breakfast.
Mildly uncomfortable bed.
A cooked breakfast wasn't offered, but, we were quite satisfied with the alternative.
Having to share a bathroom was inconvenient.
the heating in the room was inadequate and the bathroom was not very clean, the toilet seat was loose.
Wasn't that clean
Wasn't that comfortable
Cold & noisy.
Shared bathroom, rather shabby. Building requires some serious conservation; cosmetic paint job beginning to show.
Bar prices, probably normal for locality, but seemed high to me.
Tv didn't work in room.
Breakfast pretty basic.
There was nothing I did not like.
bedrooms look tired.
Limited beers (no cask).
Front door key and lock very difficult to use due to lack of maintenance.
No central heating (though a standalone radiator helped).
Stale croissants at breakfast.
The breakfast was very basic and the promise of a "Full
English" option didn't happen because the chef
didn't turn up.
bed uncomfortable.
it was as i expected a bit dated & tired.
Noise at night from outside.
The family room was a bit cramped for a family of four.
the sutt from the bedroom fireplace
the wafer thin spring matress
no lamps
windows were noisy drafty
no coffee tea facilitys
poorly fitted doors
the overall dressing of the room
bathroom was old and dirty
we live in an age were a cooked breakfast should be optional.
The cleanliness and poor decor.
Beds were uncomfortable, and my husband fell through one of them.
central heating was not working asked if we could have a refund on 2nd night due to friend having rumeroid arthritis told that because we had booked through yourself we could not have a refund even though we were freezing cold and could not even have a shower because the place was so cold and unplesasant to sit in the room would never book this place again just wanted couple of days away xmas shopping very disappointed.
poor heating , only single glazed draughty windows , noise from outside, tv did not work , not very clean , poor manager.
The bed was uncomfortable.
The room was not clean.
The room was too small.
The room urgently requires repair and refurbishment.
The central heating did not work.
The "continental" breakfast was very poor.
The in room TV was old and outdated.
General overall cleanliness was below par.
Shower broken, and only cold bath-staff didn't seem too bothered.
Also booked a 4-poster bed, but was a standard double with frame sat on pieces of dowel.
Room on third floor with single glazed sash window and no central heating-freezing.
Rooms are very dated and need lots of TLC. noise from outside was horrendous at nighttime. When the students eventually went to bed - here came the BINMEN. And that was on a Sunday at 5am! A bit pricey for what it was, but assume everywhere in Chester would be the same on a Saturday evening (same about the noise). Booked an ensuite room, but should have stuck to a shared bathroom room, as the bathroom was too dirty to use. Overall it wasn't a great experience, but bearable for one night.
no facilities tea/coffee bedside lamp or heating.
cleanliness of floors/bedding and bathroom
breakfast would prefer option of cooked as well as continental
website pictures definitely differ to reality.
Dirty rooms
Wi-Fi didn't work
Breakfast was very poor
Uncomfortable beds
Noise from outside all night.
