Luxurious accommodation, which was kept very clean. Outstanding breakfasts with a wide variety of choices to cater for every taste and appetite. Beautiful garden, with a lovely Summer house to relax in and enjoy a few drinks. A very warm welcome from the loveliest owners, who went out of their way to make our stay special. The service provided by John and Tess was outstanding and they went the extra mile with little touches such as tea and cake on our arrival, luxury snacks within our room, inc.

The guest house is defiantly worthy of its 5* & I'm delighted we chose this for our weekend stay. The hosts were welcoming, friendly & always there to help. With John even offering to give us a lift to Wedding. Great location to Brixham Harbour too. Would go back in a flash, thank you so Much. Jayde & Marc, S out. John and Tess were very welcoming and we were greeted with tea/coffee and cake on arrival. John was very helpful with our bags and very chatty. The whole five nights we stayed there was really 'home from home' and John and Tess could not do enough to make us welcome. The breakfast was out of this world and could not be faulted. I would recommend this guest house to anybody. You will not be disappointed. The whole house is very tastefully decorated but still retains a homely atmosphere. Being greeted with a cup of tea and a plate of cakes on arrival. The absolute cleanliness of the guest house was superb. The breakfast was way above 5* hotels. The proprietors John & Tess went above and beyond our expectations. We had a 5 day break to look at National trust places in the area, there are numerous so all in all we had a holiday to be remembered. Go there, you will not be disappointed. The room was well laid out with wanting for nothing. Nice finishing touches which made us feel welcomed. Breakfast was awesome with so much choice freshly made to order by the hosts themselves. Located on quite a busy street but ideally located and only few minutes walk to town centre. We would stay there again in a heartbeat and highly recommend. We stayed in the premier suite which was extremely clean and comfortable, the room was spacious enough and nicely decorated, the bathroom was slightly on the small side but was perfectly adequate for our stay, the breakfasts were quite simply "fantastic". The hosts were very welcoming and friendly and made a point of talking to all there guests bringing everyone into the conversations which was nice. When we arrived, we were greeted by Tess, a lovely lady. Our room was amazing, a good size bedroom, and a living room all to ourselves too! Breakfast was wonderful, so much too choose from,fresh orange juice in quirky individual bottles.There was such a lovely relaxed atmosphere there, with other guests being on a return visit. We didn't want to leave, and will definatly make a return visit. What's not to dislike?! Rooms beautifully decorated and have everything you need, a little small but perfectly formed. John and Tess are welcoming and friendly, the added touch of a card and little pressie for my birthday shows how lovely they are! We did cut our stay short but this was by no means any reflection on Brookside, we would highly recommend a stay here. An exceptional break. The rooms are tastefully decorated, clean and comfortable. Tess and John, the hosts, are welcoming, accommodating and helpful, in fact nothing seems to be too much trouble for them. The breakfasts are freshly cooked to order using fresh local produce, far better than the mass produced hotel breakfasts that are kept warm under lights. A very stylish, comfortable Guest House with everything we needed in our room. There is also a lovely garden and summerhouse to sit in. The breakfasts are excellent and quite different to the usual breakfast items on offer elsewhere. John & Tess are wonderful hosts who make you feel most welcome. When I left my birthday cards out (as I arrived on he day of my birthday from another establishment), they saw the cards and bought me a birthday card and some chocolates. We enjoyed the friendly atmosphere and conversation. excellent room presentation and choice of breakfast. Could not faul. The only thing missing was a bar, and would have liked a few more choice of TV channe. The whole experience was great from the moment you arrive when you are offered tea & cake to the wonderful breakfasts fabulous rooms and lovely friendly hosts for whom nothing is too much trouble. Absolutely no negatives other than we wish we could have stayed longer!!. Unfortunately Brookside is let down only by the town centre itself, which for our liking had just too many slightly tacky gift shops and an over abundance of take always, ice cream shops and the likes. There wasn't any thing at all that we didn't like. N/A. Nothing!. There was nothing to dislike at all. It was definitely 5* in everyway and we will look forward to visiting the area again and staying with John and Tess (if they'll have us!). Nothing. Difficult to fault. However, probably put on some weight because of the excellent breakfasts!. Even though we were upgraded to there bigger room . It was quite small. There was a dividing wall to make a small seating area. We think it would be better if that wall wasn't there would make that room a fantastic size and make a lot more light. If we had to be really really picky, the shower could do with a little more power - sorry John & Tess - but this would not stop us coming back for a return visit. The heat wave conditions of 14th. to 17th. July, 2013. Unfortunately the extremely hot conditions in bedrooms made it impossible to sleep soundly. The beds however and bedrooms were very, very comfortable indeed. Nothing!. Having to go back home :(. room very hot but temperature was 31. Having to leave!!. nothing. Nothing. very small bathroom attached to bedroom 4 - Shower very efficient though. Nothing. Nothing.
