On arrival, we were welcomed with smiles and Maria who spoke several languages. For a small hotel which was owned and run by mother Carmen and her two daughters Sabrena and Pierangela, it has been thoughtfully put together, and the rooms were clean and modern. My husband and our 3 kids just stayed at the Hotel Ancora Riviera and
had a wonderful time! The staff is great and always available to help
out in any way needed. We especially liked Fausto who always had a
smile on his face and was extremely friendly and very helpful in giving
us sight seeing information and restaurant recommendations. We truly
enjoyed the Sporting Yacht Club located behind the hotel which hotel
guests have access to for free. The pool was amazing and they have a

My wife and I were greeted by Mr. Francesco Andreoil ( Direttore ). From the moment we arrived he made us feel very comfortable. He assigned us a beautiful sea view room which was amazing. He also had one of his staff drive our car into the private garage as the space is very tight. He also recommended a wonderful restaurant around the corner

We have stayed here many times, every time we stay it's always such a calm, relaxing and luxurious hotel to stay in. The staff are always friendly and kind (they gave us a free upgrade too) but the location of the hotel, right on the beach in this lovely quiet location is perfect! Breakfast right overlooking the little bay is beautiful and a great start to any day or holiday.

The hotel is like an old castle with a lot of paintings and antiquefurnishings; it has a private park with a path along the ocean, it'sfairly long and very well maintained; breakfast selection was great;there is an elevator to the hotel from the street level, so there is noneed to climb all the way to the hotel; it's also easy to reach CinqueTerra

Terre. We were advised to ask for rooms 31 or 32 as they provided a view
of the beach and the hotel was happy to accommodate our request. -
It was really a great hotel. At the most beautiful side of Sestri, nearby everything. Clean chamber, very friendly staff, beautiful inside with everywhere seats to read (the chamber is not a chamber to stay during the day). Sitting somewhere in the garden there is no need to buy drinks etc. You can decide it yourself. Very good breakfast.

What a gem! We were backpacking Europe and decided to stay at La
Scogliera. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful, the rooms are
so clean, and the view of the sea is spectacular. Delicious breakfast
and made-to-order coffees, and the hotel lent us bikes to get to and
from the train station. Just a train ride away from Cinque Terre, and,
as recommended by hotel staff, Santa Margherita and Portofino. Lovely
stay at La Scogliera; highly recommend.

It seemed obvious to us that the owners of Hotel Genova care greatly about their hotel and about the comfort of their guests. Bright, airy, lovely, very comfortable room. Air conditioner was extremely quiet the few times we used it. Impeccably clean hotel. We had asked for a quiet room and were given one. Breakfasts had a delicious and varied selection of food. WiFi worked beautifully, even up on the top floor. Only a few minutes walk to the train station, beach, and pedestrian-only streets.

We had some great experiences there with the locals and the staff was very accommodating in guiding us through maps to find our destination. It helped that the owner and staff was able to speak english enough to understand us Americans. Friendly staff, good location (near beach, railway/road) easy to go both North (Genova, Portifino) and South (Cinque Terre). Although the railway was only 3-400 m from the hotel, noise was never a problem.
Good parking facilities, reasonable breakfast.

Although the location was good being near sea, we found the accommodation very basic. The staff were helpful. -
nothing it was an abused property worth about 20 Euros/night.
