Stayed overnight en route from the Dordogne back to the UK. The Chateau is only a few kilometres off the motorway - yet is delightfully quiet. Greeted enthusiastically by the owner who provided a tray of tea for outside. The family dog joined us shortly afterwards and was equally welcoming. The evening meal - following aperitifs - was cooked by his wife and was absolutely delightful. One of the best meals we have ever had in France. The salons for relaxing and the dining / breakfast area we fou. όλα τα σχόλια »
Fabulous location and beautiful Chateaux which has been occupied by the family for many generations. Warm welcome from the hostess and later from the host who joined us for drinks in the library. Delightful dinner cooked especially for us as we were the only guests that evening but we were made to feel "en famille" and made most welcome. Delightful bedroom suite - The Oiseaux Room - comfortable bed and bathroom and small sitting area. We were en route south so could only spend one night in t.
A wonderful suprise awaited us once we had navigated the drive. We were greeted both by the owner and her lovely dog. After being shown our room we were given a refreshing pot of tea and madeleines on the terrace. Herve joined us for our aperitifs then served an excellent dinner. After dinner Jacqueline was going into town and asked if we would like to accompany her. This mini-tour showed us some of the interesting sites in town.
This was the last night of our holiday and what a great end for us. The couple who own the Chateau were great, nothing was too much trouble. We also had the evening meal and what an experience in itself. The food was fantastic and the setting wonderful. No TV's but you really don't want one, the place is like stepping back in time. Probably one of the most special places we've stayed. Many Thanks!!!.
We had a wonderful experience a the Chateau de Sarceaux. The opportunity to sleep at a home that has been around for 300 years is an experience. The grounds are beautiful, like you are arriving in a horse drawn coach when you drive up the path. The Marquis and Marquise were wonderful hosts and so friendly, accommodating to us after a long journey. I wish we could have stayed longer.
We loved every thing about this place, from the welcome from Jacqueline, our beautiful room,
the meal cooked by Jacqueline, drinks on the lawn with Ervy (the Marquis of the chateau), the company and the sing song at the end of the night when Jacqueline played Beatles songs on the piano in the drawing room and we all sang along. (8 of us)
A magical evening we will never forget.
Our first stop en route to Dordogne. Peaceful setting and hosts were great. Very welcoming and friendly. Considered us guests in their home not at a hotel. Delicious food and wine eaten around a communal dining table then adjourned to the sitting room for congnac and singing around the piano. Great fun!.
I travelled with a colleague on a business trip.
We enjoyed the charm, the park, the deer, the cracking wooden floor, the glass of whisky next to open fire in the monumental fireplace.
Despite the age of the building, the bathrooms had all the comfort and everything worked perfectly, including wifi.
The lovely Jacqueline made us so welcome into her home. Beautiful big room, comfy bed. Dinner was local asparagus and duck served in a spectacular salle a manger. Madame played the piano, the whole evening was fun. We would certainly re-visit. Perfect location for an overnight stay travelling south.
Beautiful house. Warm welcome with a never ending attention to your
every need. The Marquis and Marquise are so natural and warm it was the
highlight of our stay in France. Do not miss this jewel just outside the
historic town of Alencon. And even if takes you out of your way. Do it.
It's a family home and you really do feel like part of the family.
They are very welcoming and made a special effort to fit us in to a
room, even though they were fully booked, to compensate for a mistake
I'd made when booking online.
Superb setting Chateau beautiful made even more special by the host, hostess.Food excellent as was the wine which is included in the price of Dinner. We really enjoyed our all to brief a stay. Hope we can return again one day.
The Chateau is very close to Alencon but in a large private estate so wonderfully peaceful.
The evening meal was a joy and served "en famille" style.
The rooms were well appointed and wifi available free everywhere inside.
The location , character, ambiance
Evening meal was delicious & superbly presented
Hosts were historically well informed - very friendly & welcoming - enjoyed company of other guests also.
The family and relaxing atmosphere, of old house with incredible history. The hosts were welcoming and though the stress of continually sharing with strangers can be wearing they managed it well.
A warm welcome and home comforts, tea on arrival, aperitifs with other guests, a beautiful home cooked dinner on the terrace and fantastic breakfast the next day.
The owners were extremely friendly and welcoming. They involved all the guests in the evening meal and even entered into a sing-a-long as post meal entertainment.
Ideally positioned, a stunning building, with interesting family history. Very hospitable hosts, and an excellent dinner, even though we were a little late.
Great welcome and setting, superb food and drink and a wonderful friendly atmosphere, like a house party, staying with friends.

Grounds, lovely setting and very relaxing,.
Can't think of anything that we did not like or enjoy.
Unfortunately we were the only guests that night.
Not staying for longer!.
Nothing.
Nothing special to see in Alencon itself.
There is nothing not to like.
The approach road was unmet allied, in wet weather that would have been a pain on the car cleanliness.
As far as I was concerned I have no negative comments to make.
The room was excellent value for money, but the dinner was expensive in comparison.
The price of the rooms was slightly higher than advertised on the letsbookhotel.com website (125 euros against 105 euros).
all good.
The price of dinner was on the high side.
Non Tarmac track to Chateaux a bit rough for a low car. Room tax added to bill in addition to agreed rate. No free wi fi (no wifi at all) on date of stay which was one of the reasons why I booked it - apparently changing provider at the time. Wifi was obviously normally available.
Nothing not to like.
nothing everything was excellent.
Difficult to find.
Nothing.
Distant traffic noise.
Nothing.

Male host polite and cannot fault other than didn`t have warmth and charm that is needed for such a host job. However his wife more than made up for it, she is a lovely charming lady, that made up for his coolness and arrorgance.
