  This is a review of the family unit/ studio unit for 4 persons. This studio unit is very good value for money for 4 persons compared to another room we had also stayed in ( a private twin/ double for 3 persons which was rather cramped ). It is spacious, has parking just outside the unit and comes equipped with ensuite bathroom and a kitchenette. ... was die leute sagen » - Excellent place to go with a large party as you can hire out all the rooms within one unit and consume alcohol from any hour throughout the day, unlike all the other hostel/backpackers that like to have a curfew, very close to town, very comfortable and stress free stay!!   This is without a doubt the best hostel I have stayed in ever. These people are clearly well travelled as they have thought of everything. The beds are probably the most comfortable you will find. You get your own reading light and plug and a privacy curtain on each bed. Great kitchen and common area. It's only a 3 minute walk into the centre of tow - The Haka lodge is located perfectly for anyone wanting to be a close walk from Shotover St, however is also nicely set in a quieter area of Queenstown. 5 minute walk from all bars and shops, the Haka lodge is excellent value for all backpackers. Still looking as good as new, kitchens, bathrooms and bedroom (ours a double room) was perfect for our short 2 nights stay. Had a very friendly dog called Monty! :-)

  The location was unbelievable, right in the middle of town with all the bars and restaurants just outside the door and the views were remarkable. Couldn't believe we were only paying $27nz a night. The people on the fvront counter were the owners and they were nothing short of brilliant, helpfull and fun to be with. The rooms were brand new, beds d... was die leute sagen » idn't squeak and came with innerspring mattressesand clean everything, heaven after what we'd been sleeping on. Can't wait to get back there next year - I'm pretty fussy and I won't rate a place unless it goes beyond my expectation and this place did in every respect. Security is important when travelling alone and AVA does it all with style and ease. I've stayed in 4 star hotels that don't have the quite keyless entry doors with closers that don't allow the doors to slam or squeak yet still allow entry in the wee hours.It's the little things like quality loo paper, body/hair wash free in the showers, the beds, people, everything was excellent - Best place to meet new people...right next to tonnes of bars and night spots. Had friends staying at other local backpackers and after three days of noise in their 10-bed dorm they were begging to move in with us! AVA is the best of both worlds - all the party spots right outside the door, but we could still come back to peace and quiet and much needed sleep. Both our rooms had ensuites - so luxurious compared to other backpackers we'd stayed in. Best value in Queenstown! Incredible views too.

  We stayed in a suite which was perfect for our requirements. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. wonderful position in centre of town - Staff was very friendly and helpful, people that stayed were very cool, plus it's a prime location. I highly recommend this place to people

All the bars/clubs, snow rentals, and adventure centres were either across the street or a max. 2 minute walk. Value for money - Double room (2 people) ended up being about $45 each, per night.
