  The gentle calm of the place. It seemed like a well kept 75 year-old elegant hotel. It is much newer and build to an older standard. The location is the best in Monterey. Upon entering the room for the first time I was surprised that the pictures I had seen understated the elegance and beauty. We walked to everything and go - Without question, the best feature was the window seat looking out onto the wonderful view of the ocean. We watched a range of seabirds and also Sea Otters. The room was beautifully furnished and the bed was extremely comfortable. Sitting in the comfortable arm chairs in front of the log burning fire as the evening cooled added to the luxurious and romantic atmosphere. The sound of the Ocean waves as we drifted off to sleep was the best of all!

  Hotel is in a great part of the coast between LA and SF. The hotel was comfortable and within walking distance of the shops. We did drive to the old fisherman's wharf. But this was because we were out of time and tired. All part of the hotel were clean but we were a bit disappointed we could not do the laundry after 10 pm. Had a self service laundry. Some rooms have a chaise lounge which was big enough for our 11 year old to sleep on, but make sure you ask for one when you check in. The hotel is on the edge of town, but walking distance to Fishermans wharf. There is a free tram to Cannery row and the aquarium. Best place to eat - Rosines on Alverado street. HUGE portions of cake. Best breakfast - Denny's just across the road.

  We booked the 1110 hotel as our penultimate stop on a 3 week California drive holiday. After reading some negative reviews after booking we were a little wary but needn't have been. The welcome we received when checking in was very warm, the decor was gorgeous and the hotel had a really lovely feel. The complimentary happy hour was a good opportunity to meet others staying at the hotel and the ambiance was nice, we sat on a sofa by the fireplace. The staff were VERY friendly and accommodating. The breakfast was excellent. The room was totally updated. The bathroom was updated and the shower/jaccuzi was fantastic! The roof was a patio where you can sit and watch the ocean while sipping your drink.
