I booked the hotel on my iPhone as we drove down the coast. I knew nothing about it. What a wonderful surprise--loved the room with all the amenities. Since we arrived at 8 p.m., we didn't have time to enjoy the seating area or the balcony, but we liked having breakfast in the room. Loved the plantings and fountains. Love the location--walked to dinner and in the morning to the wharf. Charming and cozy.

realize it was free until we were leaving, or we would have taken in

Location. The hotel was cruise and complete; everything we needed without being to much. We had free wifi, fridge, microwave, and access to the footpath that goes for days. The hotel was very close to amenities and provided many of its own. I would absolutely stay there again and enjoy breakfast on the patio! It is not the five star, nickel n dime ya, hotel that the Hyatt is; it is easy and functional and everything we needed.

Really enjoyed our stay at the Monterey Bay Inn. Location was great - in between Fisherman's Warf and Cannery Row and the scenery was gorgeous. Loved the sound of the sea lions in the distance, too. Carpet in hallways needed cleaning, but our room was spacious and clean. Great value with the continental breakfast. Would definitely stay there again!

I told the staff I was celebrating an anniversary and not only did they give us a complimentary bottle of wine, but they called the restaurant where we had a reservation and told them so they did something special for us. Overall a good place to stay -
The hotel was good. Had a self service laundry. Some rooms have a chaise lounge which was big enough for our 11 year old to sleep on, but make sure you ask for one when you check in. The hotel is on the edge of town, but walking distance to Fishermans wharf. There is a free tram to Cannery row and the aquarium. Best place to eat - Rosines on Alverado street. HUGE portions of cake. Best breakfast - Denny's just across the road.

The lady who checked us in was very friendly, helpful and welcoming.
The complimentary happy hour was a good opportunity to meet others staying at the hotel and the ambiance was nice, we sat on a sofa by the fireplace. The staff were VERY friendly and accommodating.
The breakfast was excellent.
The room was totally updated.
The bathroom was updated and the shower/jaccuzi was fantastic!
The roof was a patio where you can sit and watch the ocean while sipping your drink.

Customer service is very good, John at the reception the night we have arrived was very helpful. They served a continental breakfast ;fruits, bagels, toasts, cereals, juice and coffee, breakfast is at the reception a bit too small but there is a deck behind the reception that you can go with your breakfast.
