I liked that the hotel was built in 1904 and it was filled with so much history, that you could feel it when walking through the door. I loved that it had a smell of antiques and although the breakfast was very simple, it was enough and clean. the staff were great, very friendly and helpful. I loved my room. It had a peacock window open to the street, I opened the windows and could hear the seagulls and smell the ocean. It was everything I wanted.
所有评语 » We have stayed only 1 night, but enjoyed this pleasant stay! Excellent location (incl. local farmers' market down the street on Tuesday), beautiful historic architecture and relevant interior style, close public parking possibility, nearby convenience store, very friendly & helpful staff, good breakfast (spacious room, nice music, quiet atmosphere, simple but good food choice incl.fast oatmeal porridge, yoghurt, take-away tea/coffee). I loved the hotel, the atmosphere. It is warm, cozy and in an (old) European style. It reminded me of older and good hotels in Britain. I also loved the fact that everything was on walking distance(!) and the staff was very, very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was free and good (but basic) compared to other hotels where breakfast is free. Great boutique hotel right downtown. A little concerned when we checked in and they gave you ear plugs But everything turned out well. There was no air-conditioning but with the windows open and the ceiling fan going you did not notice. Walking distance to great cafes and bars. We had a fantastic 3 night stay...the location is perfectly suited for downtown walking distance and the staff was incredible. Great bathroom and you definitly don't have to worry about the water pressure...if you didn't barely turn it on the full pressure could peel paint. Staff was very helpfull, confort is very good and we were upgrated to suite with jacuzzi and fireplace. Very clean,cosy, and romantic style. walking distance from the beach. Breakfast is basic but good, enough to start the day, they have fruit, coffe, tea, juice bagels. Excellent location in the centre of downtown Monterey, just a short walk from Fishermen's Quay. Lovely historic building, with beautiful antique furnishings. Our room was clean and comfortable, and the included continental breakfast was very good too. I loved the whole look and feel of the hotel. Had a vintage feel to it.The staff was very friendly and made my stay comfortable.Its in a great location downtown close to everything.Overall my stay was satisfying!!!!!. We arrived by sailboat in Monterey and it was nice to have such a warm welcoming place lined up for us to land. As we were cold and tired. And right on Alvarado st. With all our favorite spots to hang out. It was a beautiful old building with very high ceilings and heavy ornate moldings. The furnishings were reproduction antiques so they looked at home in this old building but were quite functional. the design is wonderful and refinement. i also like every staff. They all are warmly well come, helpful and nice personality. The location is nice. easy to find restaurant at late night!. I have stayed here several times and recently it was getting a little questionable for the price yet they have turned it around. Still my main place to stay in Monterey. The location was good and ghe staff were friendly and helpful. It is in the middle of the town so parking is an issue but the valet parking worked well. Very nice and well maintained turn of the last century hotel with a very interesting past. Staff was very helpful and prompt and very polite. Enjoyed our stay. Staff very friendly and helpful. Central and good value for money. Clean and room/bathroom was very spacious. Convenient to everything we wanted to do, i.e. close to the water, wharf, seaside drive, shopping, highway. It was nice, modern hotel, friendly staff,cold breakfast included, rooms were clean and comfortable bed, partial ocean view, and city view. walking distance to the beach. It has an excellent location, right in the centre of town and close to everything. nice decor -- antique 1900s feel good location downtown nice bathroom. Very friendly staff, great location. The only draw back was that we were on the 3rd floor and there were no elevators, other than that it was great!. be prepare to hear seagulls "singing" :) and consider, that since the building is old there is no elevator. they made a mistake and gave someone else the room where I already checked into. So a stranger opened my room. Not good. However, the staff made there apologies several times and gave me a discount. We are all people and we can all make a mistake. What counts is how you deal with it and they did that excellent. Elevator was broken. bring your own pillows...no elavator but the staff will run and get you anything and bring it up. hotel dont have escalator so can be hard for persons with disability. Parking not available but you have one just around the corner 7 dolars for 24 hours, quite good. Not related to the hotel but , dont eat on fisherman warf it is expensive and food is not value for the money. choose one restaurant in town. Nothing not to like. The pillows were not comfy. We were there during a heat wave so we slept with the windows open. While that made the temperature comfortable, there was a lot of street noise,. there're some noise pollution from the road and seagulls. i prefer some egg for breakfast, anyway the breakfast also nice ^ ^ i love your dennis. Still pushing to get some type of protein at breakfast rather than mainly starches. Nothing really to say about this one!. No parking on site. Small room with little sound insulation. I wish it had a refridgerator or microwave. We had an inside room with no outdoor window, elevator was out of order, and the valet took awhile. Rooms are a little small. Beds not the best; sore back in the morning. No lift facility. the walls are really very thin and we could hear every thing the neighbors were saying. Unlike most American hotels they do not have a microwave or fridge. No elevator -- that needed to be told up front before making the reservation. I didn't like it but could deal with it. Another person needed to use a walker, so it was impossible for him. Nobody should find that out at checkin. No coffee in the room, did not have a good pick of food for breakfast, should have had donuts, pastrys, seasonal fruit, different breads, different cereals that were fresh. continental breakfast. We did not like the street noise which was not mentioned in the advertisement. There was noise till 3am. Not much of a free breafast. Room on 4th floor but lift out of order'. No air conditioner, very noisy. I did not sleep as it was very hot and noisy all night long. The insulation between the rooms is very poor or maybe none. I will never stay here again. No elevator breakfast sucked television was older than my grandmother. Room in front of hotel got a lot of late night party noise from the street. . .don't recommend a front room. No wine opener in room. hard to sleep, because it was very noisy. Breakfast. No Coffee Machine. Didn't care for the noise being off of a busy street. A lot of drunk people being loud at night around 1-2 A.M. Elevator was not working. - the breakfast was very paltry - our room was at the street side and kind of noisy - suspicious people in the streets around around at night. Very loud at night, on weekends, not a good idea for kids,(which we had). Loud,you can hear all the street noises and people up until 2-3am. No air conditioning. No screens on the windows so bug fly into the room. Mattress was very hard. Checked out by 4 am and drove 3 hours home. Parking expensive Bit tatty but not bad. The elevator wasn't working and my wife and elderly aunt had to climb several flights of stairs to reach our room on the third floor. Very old hotel. no elevator small room. Room was very small and looked out onto a wall! All in our 60's and staying on 3rd floor with a broken lift. Although the staff helped, we carried our luggage up 3 floors. Breakfast room not very well organised with too little space for too many people. Lots of waiting whilst guests lingered over another coffee!! Asked for, and got, a price reduction. Wide fluctuation of room prices. A room with sight to the next wall and very small room. The bed was uncomfortable and throughout, the hotel needed some upgrading of carpets and furnishings etc. In the night it was noisy and cold Breakfast was very poor The elevator didn't work No parking.
