  We were greeted by the owners father on arrival, who filled us in on all the necessary information of the local village Hillsborough and how to get to Belfast. We then met David the owner, very helpful and accommodating. The rooms are beautifully furnished and there is a real home atmosphere, like your one of the family.   We were overwhelmed by the beauty of Astala Lodge along with the location. We stayed four nights and we're lucky to be given one of four front rooms overlooking Bangor Marina (room 11). Everything is new. And everything is spotlessly clean. The view of the waterfront was quite nice (I saw a wonderful sunrise). Breakfast was quite good. The WiFi worked well. The staff was friendly and accommodated our late arrival without fuss (naturally we had the presence of mind to call and inform them we were arriving late). Parked right in front.
