Forget about St Ives and stay in Penzance at Sophia's B and B where Lynne gives you a very warm welcome. Penzance is much quieter and is within in easy reach of many historical sites and villages including the fascinatingly named Mousehole. Our room overlooking the promenade and ocean was very spacious, clean and comfortable with a recently renovated bathroom. Easy to find on the promenade and near the amazing retro and sea-filled swimming pool. Plenty of free parking in the locality. Lovely welcome from owner, Lyn (with tea tray!) who was very attentive and helpful. Rooms are spotless, well decorated and very comfortable. Lyn has thought of everything; don't miss the bath robes in the wardrobe (like we did!) Great English Breakfast which includes Cornish speciality Hog's Pudding (yum).
Sophia's B&B, Penzance. Attractive large bright Greek-style room looking straight across over the sea and the Newlyn headland. Big window with window seat. Very comfortable large bed. An archway leads to the very well appointed bathroom with big walk-in shower - all very clean and modern. Nice little breakfast room downstairs. Very friendly and helpful owner. Free parking outside starting 20 yards from the front door.
Our room overlooked the sea front and was very stylish - more like a hotel than a B & B.
Sophia was very helpful and welcoming. Breakfast was delicious. It's around 15 minutes walk to the Penzance Railway Station which makes it an easy trip from London.
Sophia's is only a short bus ride away from St Michael's Mount, and a train ride to The Lost Gardens Of Heligan.
Our room was beautiful and spacious with a luxury bathroom. Breakfast were amazing with a choice of cooked breakfasts, fruit, fruit juice cereal, etc. Owner was very helpful regarding booking restaurants and suggesting sights to see etc. Sophias was based close to plenty of restaurants within walking distance.
Great location right on the Promenade in Penzance. Lynn, the owner, was a very gracious host, and the beds and shower were very modern, and extremely good.

The B&B is ideally located for travellers using bus or rail services but also has car parking opportunities kerbside of the property. The owner makes you feel very welcome and nothing is too much trouble for her. Food is excellent.
Our room was very clean and cosy, and had a great sea view. The owner of Sophia's B&B was very friendly, and she made nice breakfast for us. If we have a chance to visit Cornwall again, we will stay in Sophia's B&B again.

Lovely bedroom with seaview window seat - high quality touches throughout, linens, bathroom, toiletries - and not to forget the breakfast - the best of our fortnight touring Cornwall - the Eggs Benedict were delicious.
The host Lyn was warm and welcoming. The standard of décor was superb - biggest, most comfortable bed I've slept in, beautiful linen and a very luxurious bathroom. Great breakfast.

Was initially worried that our two ground floor rooms were too close to a busy road - but actually, by early that evening (on a Saturday in late July), Penzance had became very quiet and we had an extremely good and undisturbed sleep.
