The Newport Lodge Hotel is the perfect small owner-operated, full service hotel for business and private guests.
It is situated high on the hill just above Brynglas Tunnel on the M4, just off junction 26. All prices quoted include full Welsh breakfast. Dinner is served in the hotel's bistro Monday to Thursday evenings (limited availability on Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings due to functions etc).
If you wish to dine on any of these nights then please contact the hotel directly and they will be happy to arrange something for you. You can have a relaxing drink in the adjacent bar while your order is taken.

Excellent value, nice to see a good fresh home cooked breakfast too. Dinner very good also. Staff very professional and will go out of their way to help. Good location close to m4 and free parking!. The staff were friendly and helpful, the room clean and the food excellent.friendliness of staff. Clean and comfortable room fantastic breakfast. Helpfulness and friendliness of staff.We had a room with a four poster bed excellent mattress verycomfortable. Service in the bar was friendly and helpfull dinner wasadequate breakfast also good. Parking was easy. The hospitality was very good, and the service in the Bistro excellent. A local hotel with freindly staff and good food. I was allocated Room 211 which was very cold even with the heating on full. Not really. Steak tasteless but otherwise food very good. No mini bar in room. (I did not need one but if I had there was not one). Noise from m4 passing directly underneath hotel. No chance ofkeeping French window open. Grumpy (bordering on rude) receptionstaff in the morning.The room I stayed in (212) was generally very cold and the radiator could not cope even when turned up. However, an additional heater was available. Had to hand ket in every time I left the building - there was no one in reception when I returned and had to wait 10 minutes in reception to get the key back.When checked out in the morning, the woman on reception managed to sort my bill out and check me in 10 minutes - all the while she was nattering on the phone!. bed/mattress very soft. Evening meal was expensive but excellent. The price. £125 was too expensive. Mattress poor- offered very little support. Security of the car park, area. The resturant- the food was expensive and didnt taste very nice. Lack of wireless internet in the rooms. With modem is also not available. Cold in the room.We were expecting bar and bistro facilities and had not been informedthat these were no longer available.
