  I had a group of guests staying for my sister's hen do. The rooms were huge, very clean, excellent facilities and a very central location.   location - This is the best hotel I had ever stayed in London. It has all facilities a busy traveller needs including excellent free internet in the rooms and wireless in the lobby, very responsive staff, spacious and impeccably clean rooms.   When I realized that London hotel rooms are very, very small, I found the 9 Hertford Street apartment hotel. It's location is excellent: just off Piccadilly st., very close to Green Park underground station that brings you anywhere (including to and from Heathrow airport with the Piccadilly line) , a 25 minutes walk to Oxford st.   I'd never stayed at The Athenaeum before but I will be back. Although I booked a standard double at a very deep discounted rate (typically this means getting the box room next to the staff quarters), I was given an apartment room which was really a suite.   The hotel is just awesome. I loved the location /close to Oxford street, near Easy bus stop/, hotel staff was really helpful and nice, lovely breakfast and clean and comfortable room.
