  Upon arrival we were greeted in a friendly manner. The whole place was fantasticly decorated to a high standard. Very clean, comfortable and spacious rooms. Breakfast was nvery good and a nice choice to choose from. The few extra touches such as DVD tv and radio in the bathroom were appreciated too, just a pity we didn't bring a DVD to watch.   Great location within walking distance of both Windemere and Bowness. Helen, Phillippa and Trevor all pleasant and helpful. They even took us through the kitchen at breakfast time to see the Deer in the woods at the rear of the property. Able to use spa/gym facilities at nearby hotel. All in all excellent place to stay. - the hostress, Phillipa (hope I didn't wrongly spell her name) was very kind. She welcomed us with delicious tea and cookies, and provided us some milk and cereal when she heard we had to catch up an early train and would miss the breakfast - hmm, the breakfast was quite good here. The room was clean and cozy, enough space and we even saw a deer outside the window. Overall it was really nice stay, I could understand why this guesthouse could get such a high rating.

  My friend and I stayed there for 3 nights and were treated like family. Advice about places to go was plentiful and maps and brochures appeared out of nowhere.....we would definitely recommend staying here...it's a home from home. The full breakfast is huge and enough to feed 3 hungry people - I put 2 pounds on in 3 days!!! This was the one of the best beds we slept in while on our trip around England. Vince is a great host with good recommendations on what to do and how to get there. Shirley is an awesome cook and these were the best breakfasts we had in England. The location is very good - a 15 minute walk from the town so that we could enjoy wine with dinner and not worry about driving and there are lots of good restaurants in Bowness-on-Windemere - just ask Vince!

  Lovely stay, great breakfast. Heather looked after us and any made us feel really welcome. We were given a choice of two rooms on arrival which was great. Nothing was too much trouble. The thermostat was adjusted so we had more heat in our room which was very welcome on a rainy day in the lakes(who'd have thought that could happen?) The guest room was very clean and well presented and we had everything we needed and the breakfast was to die for. Heather always made sure we had everything we wanted or needed during our stay.   Everything was perfect. The staff, the food, the room everything was just perfect. Its also a great location just between windermere and bowness.   The room was lovely and clean and despite its small size, had everything you needed-TV, dvd player, hairdryer, shampoo, conditioner,coffee- making facilities.
