  Good food, comfortable hotel, spa facilities, friendly staff, plus a super location about 3 miles outside of Keswick - a relaxing stay in a delightful setting, loved the pool and spa and the food was fabulous, worth another visit.

  The Swinside Inn is set among the magnificent Cumbrian mountians. The views from our 'Catbells' room were stunning. The room was well presetned with modern decor throught, a modern en suite shower/bathroom, comfortable bed, ample wardrobe/drawer space and ample tea/coffee facilities. From the moment we arrived to the time we left we were impressed with the - Location excellent..in a quiet valley about 5 km from Keswick, a tourist center. No other buildings around except for the Inn. I could hike into spectacularly rough mountains in 5 minutes by foot from the inn. Nice log fire, lovely and warm in the rooms. Each room is slightly different. The one known as Causey Pike has massive windows towards the mountains. Food was fine, and breakfasts were hearty with everything one could think of.

  The ambience at Middle Ruddings is excellent. The staff have a laid back easy going efficiency and pay much attention to detail;nothing was too much trouble. The heated towel rail was particularly appreciated after we got drenched in a long walk by the lake! Would definitely recommend this place to anyone! There's a bus stop 5 mins away so if yo - We loved our stay in Thwaite Howe! The owners were very friendly and helpful, even printed out a bus schedule for us before arriving knowing we will not have a car! Amazing room, stunning view and the best breakfast ever. The location is perfect - about 2h walk from Keswick (10min by bus, but we love walking) and a path to the mountains and forest right on the side or any other mountains within walking reach. We definitely recommend staying here and experience the best of Lake District. We hop
