The Swinside Inn is set among the magnificent Cumbrian mountians. The
views from our 'Catbells' room were stunning. The room was well
presetned with modern decor throught, a modern en suite
shower/bathroom, comfortable bed, ample wardrobe/drawer space
and ample tea/coffee facilities. The evening meal was fairly basic
and fitting for a countryside

Location excellent..in a quiet valley about 5 km from Keswick, a
tourist center. No other buildings around except for the Inn. I could
hike into spectacularly rough mountains in 5 minutes by foot from the
inn. Nice log fire, lovely and warm in the rooms. Each room is slightly
different. The one known as Causey Pike has massive windows towards the
mountains. Food was fine, and breakfasts were hearty with everything
one could think of.

The ambience at Middle Ruddings is excellent. The staff have a laid back easy going efficiency and pay much attention to detail;nothing was too much trouble. A most charming inn set in a beautiful location overlooking Skiddaw. The staff were exceptionally friendly and as for the food - what can we say but 5 Star with emphasis on top quality local produce cooked with flair and presented with style. The breakfasts were exceptional especially the smoked haddock. We really enjoyed the country experience and the company of other guests - many of whom were regulars. -
have been to the Coledale Inn many times for meals over the years but this was our first stay .We found the experience a delight.A wonderful greeting on arrival.A spotlessly clean room-tastefully furnished and nearby residents lounge.A happy place to be and we had a perfect nights sleep.Breakfast was served by friendly staff in the dining room and was very good.We will be booking to go again and will recommend it to all our family and friends.

The swinside farmhouse is well presented immaculate and very clean and tidy.
Joanne the co owner goes that extra mile to make your stay as good as can be.
The breakfast is second to none.
Great venue if you like quiet lovely surroundings .
Also if you like a drink there is a pub just across the road that does'nt affect your nights sleep as it is a quiet very small village pub.

We loved our stay in Thwaite Howe! The owners were very friendly and helpful, even printed out a bus schedule for us before arriving knowing we will not have a car! Amazing room, stunning view and the best breakfast ever. The location is perfect - about 2h walk from Keswick (10min by bus, but we love walking) and a path to the mountains and forest right on the side or any other mountains within walking reach. We definitely recommend staying here and experience the best of Lake District. We hop
