Very central - 4 minute walk from Puerta del Sol, 10 minute walk from El Museo del Prada. Staff very friendly and helpful. Wifi in my room and printing facilities downstairs. Very sociable - I met many other travellers from all around the world in the lounge area. Location, location, location. This is the perfect budget place available in the heart of Madrid. For the price, the breakfast included was excellent. The staff is very friendly and the hostel is visited by people of all ages.

Good central location, close to metro and places to shop, eat and drink. Free breakfast ok but nothing special. really good location, really cheap, but hostel quality matches the price. Hot water. 24 hour open reception, exellent location really close to the city center. No air conditioning - almost unbearable nights in the summer - 35oC at 03:00 in the morning according to my iPhone. Ask for a fan at reception!!!. A friend and I overnight there for the first two days in a 5 mixed room. Then we traveled to Sevilla and on our way back to Madrid, we stayed for 3 more days. This time we got our beds in a 5 mixed dormitory and there were some guys who did not have good hygene. I was not able to get another room and I could not sleep so I moved out and booked myself a room in a hotel nearby. It was just nasty. Breakfast is very poor, wifi in the lobby only. room was very cold at night. I found a big insect walking on the floor. I did not know that the room was for both sexes. That was not written anywhere. Rest of hostel quite dated and rooms very basic. cockroach...I saw big cockroach in the bathroom.. poor breakfast terrible wifi connection. only on the reception ( but there isn't enoug space for sitting there). Not proper breakfast, not very clean. The bathroom (on a 4 bed dormitory) was to small. The bedroom should be ventilated by air conditioning. It was to hot in there. The noise from the street contlinued untill 6.am, I felt like my bed was in street. The room was cold as heater not working properly I asked for more blankets but none left. Also the draw in room was stuffed full of cooked chicken that the cleaner had not found. For 50 euros it was a rip off, 35 would have been acceptable. No common kitchen or even a kettle, not everyone at the reception speaking english, low standard of rooms. We hadn't noticed that the hotel is situated in the middle of the night-bars when we booked online. All night drunk people came in at odd hours, slammng doors etc. We didn't get a good night's rest, and although we had booked for 3 days, we checked out after 1 night.
